Cool, Calm, and Collected

Hello and welcome to October,

I hope this finds you well as we officially move into a new month and begin to settle into the Autumn season here in the Northern Hemisphere. For some reason, shifting into October, even the very first day feels like such a significant shift for me. Do you notice that shift happening for you today, too? It’s like a little click happens and all of a sudden there’s a palpable awareness that crisp, cooler, cozy weather will be showing up little by little every day this month. Maybe you’ve already started to make way for the new season by changing some things in your home, like pulling out throw blankets, adding soft accent pillows to your sofa or bed, or maybe you’ve already had your first cup of all things pumpkin spice. In any ways that you’re being guided to shift into this season, please give yourself permission to say yes.

While the natural rhythms of each season are always connected to us, there’s something special about moving from one season into the next; we can feel and see the changes happening all around us and it supports us in recognizing the changes happening within us as well. This is a wonderful time to check in with yourself about what changes you’re experiencing and what changes you would like to invest in throughout this new season. You may be experiencing a lot of momentum if you’re still plugging away at updating your systems which was such a powerful theme that was showing up in September. Maybe as you’ve been updating organizational systems, donation, and work flow systems, you’ve found more areas you’re inspired to update and streamline. It’s such a great feeling when you lighten your load and get things into alignment for where you are now so you can move forward with what works best for you and your needs. This energy of fresh starts, new beginnings, and change is a powerful time to continue the projects that you have on your list and to allow yourself to enjoy your spaces as well. As we begin to move into a season where we will be experiencing shorter days and longer nights, we often spend more time indoors and at home. The pull to create a space that feels supportive, comforting, and safe is a strong message that’s showing up right now. (Maybe you’re receiving this message too.)

In fact, this theme of almost hunkering down and creating a space (to the best of our ability) that feels cozy and nurturing has been so strong that it almost feels like it can’t be ignored. Like most things, there’s no one way or right way to do this. There are only the ways that feel right for you right now. Maybe the ways you used to honor this call isn’t the way you feel guided to do it this season. Maybe you’ll feel guided to increase your creature comforts by setting out some favorite candles, or essential oil blends that feel like fall to you. Maybe you’ll be guided to shift the lighting to more gentle or golden lighting so your space feels more calming and restful. Maybe you’ll be guided to get out some activities that you enjoy doing that you have tucked away in closets or boxes. These could include puzzles, art supplies, yarn, needles or hooks, journals, musical instruments, or maybe some physical books that you’ve been meaning to get around to reading. Anything that you enjoy that you haven’t been able to do for whatever reasons, this is a good time to get them down and into places that you can easily see and access. You’ll be amazed at how much you’ll allow yourself to enjoy your interests when they’re easily accessible to you. Maybe the way you mark the seasonal shift and move into the energy of cozy involves baking or cooking something special that you look forward to all year. Maybe you would like to try your hand at making something new or something that you’ve been wanting to try for a long time. All of these are wonderful ways to move into this energy of creating a space that makes you feel comforted and insulated. A place where you’d like to stay awhile and even put your feet up, maybe you have fuzzy socks on too.

When I was receiving this message about what themes are really palpable for this month, I was shown the importance of making this seasonal shift a priority. Not only because it supports us in moving into this new season and organically helps us to experience more balance but because it’s supporting us in creating a small space of peace. With so much happening all around us within our communities, on a national level, and as a global community there’s a lot of intensity, stress, and worry happening. It seems you can find news stories every day and nearly all day no matter what time zone we’re in that contribute to these feelings of stress and overwhelm. As we continue to move through this season, we’ll find this intensity to not only be with us but also to magnify. While this thought can feel unwelcome, on a deep core level I know that many people (especially highly sensitive souls like yourself) can see and feel this truth resonating for them too. It’s important to remember that allowing ourselves to feel our feelings is important and it’s equally important to cultivate a space that can support us in increasing calm, comfort, and care. We’re being guided to invest in this support system for ourselves and our loved ones so that we can carve out a space that feels like a sanctuary inside the storm. You don’t have to do all the things all at once. The process of moving into this new season while also enjoying it can happen a little bit at a time; that’s the magical part of the experience. The big message here is about allowing yourself to honor this calling in the ways that you feel resonate for you. The message is about not putting off this experience for another day when you have more time or when you feel “ready” but rather to make today the right day. Every action you make no matter how seemingly small will lead to a significant shift for you and your home. You are 100% worth the investment of these action steps and it will yield big dividends for you throughout the whole season. Focus on what’s right in front of you, and choose what you can do today to honor the call you’re receiving about this new season.

I hope that you’ll enjoy watching the colors of the changing leaves, the crisp cool morning air, the smell of autumn, and the change in the light all month long. I hope you’ll enjoy finding ways to honor your own personal blend of cool, calm, and collected throughout October. This is a magical month filled with so many shifts and changes and it’s also the unofficial kick off to the holiday season for many people. Lean into the season, lean into the shift, and give yourself permission to say yes to the comfort and calm that your soul wants right now.

The Quickening is Here...

Hello and welcome to March,
I hope this finds you well as we move into a new month and the big shift that is happening right now. You may be able to feel the quickening happening within and around you. This little window that we’re in right now before we officially meet the first day of Spring here in the Northern Hemisphere is where the magic happens. You may notice that you’re experiencing an uptick in inspiration, ideas, energy, and excitement about projects or things on your list that you feel ready to begin. You may notice that you’re feeling more like yourself or perhaps you’re feeling a shift in perspective or a sense that things are beginning to come into alignment for you. Any of these experiences are right on time for the shift that’s happening right now. In fact, even if it’s still cold and rainy where you are, (like it is where I am) we can still see signs of the quickening happening around us too. Flowers are beginning to bloom, grasses and other plants are beginning to wake up, and trees are even beginning to break bud. These seemingly small signs of new life here and there remind us that new life is happening around us and that same surge of energy is happening within us as well.

This unfurling or awakening process is a natural one that we experience together. This is a powerful time to capitalize on your own personal experience and inspiration to support you in moving with this energy in the ways that speak to you. Like most things, there are no right ways nor is there only one way to make the most of this positive shift that’s happening right now. There are just the ways that are right for you on any particular day. Taking a little time to check in with yourself to see what things have been showing up for you can help you to better understand how you’re being guided to invest your energy and inspiration at this time. You can also take a look back at some things that you’ve found interesting or intriguing lately. Are there some things that you’ve enjoyed learning, watching, or reading about this winter season that you feel guided to try your hand at now that you’re feeling a shift in your energy? Sometimes, we can find answers to what we’re being guided to work on, learn more about, or invest our time in by paying attention to what we’re enjoying right now. If you’re still not sure exactly what you’re being guided to focus on, you can ask for a clear sign in your physical world that you’ll easily notice and understand. Then, pay attention to the messages that you start to receive. You’ll find that you start to receive repeating messages as answers to your questions. You can work with your angels, guides, or any spiritual support system that resonates for you.

Some of the themes that have been coming through include but are not limited to the list I’ve included below. You may find that these themes and messages are showing up for you too. However, this is not an end all be all list and you may be receiving guidance about something different which is fantastic and completely personal to you.

  • Nurturing and cultivating a gentle home environment

  • Deep calling to make food from scratch and from gentle or basic ingredients

  • Guidance to learn new skills or practice current skills with food including baking, making food from scratch, preservation methods etc.

  • Gardening and seed storage

  • Increasing immune health

  • Detoxing or Eating nurtrient dense foods

  • Gentle Exercise

  • Meditation or mindfulness practice

  • Increasing or nurturing spiritual gifts

  • Writing and or journaling

  • Creative pursuits either learning something new or picking up something you have enjoyed in the past

  • Taking steps toward starting or making progress on a project that’s important to you

  • Streamlining aspects of your life that need to be simplified

  • Decluttering

  • Letting go of things that are finished

  • Daydreaming

  • Increasing joy and laughter

  • Moving at your own pace

  • Making time to do something for yourself each day

As we move into this new energy, you may notice that you feel a sense of increased sensitivity and you may be experiencing some ascension symptoms as well. You can think of yourself as a beautiful flower blooming in this in between time that’s happening right now. You may find that you need a little extra tlc on some days as you’re adjusting to this shift that’s happening. This is one of the reasons the messages and insights that you’re receiving about what to focus on right now is so important. These insights will add support for you as we move through this energy shift and as we prepare for a new season which is right around the corner. This is a really special time of the year filled with possibility and new beginnings, and you get to enjoy and experience this in your life too. To the best of your ability honor the messages and inspiration you’re receiving and take action steps in the ways that are a fit for you. And all the while, enjoy this process, it’s filled with magic and beauty and it’s happening right now. You’re part of it! It’s happening within you, so please give yourself permission to enjoy this quickening while it’s here and create some magic in your daily life this month.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year~
Welcome to 2024!
I hope this new year will bring you and yours blessings, joy, happiness, and peace. I hope that you had a wonderful holiday season and that this message is finding you well and rested as we begin a new year.

I want to gently remind you that the holiday hangover phenomenon is real and if you're finding yourself in need of a little more rest, a little more quiet, and a little more time to fully move into the new year energy, you're not alone. If you can find little ways to honor your need to go slowly this first week of the new year, please give yourself permission to do so. Things that feel supportive for you can help you move more gently into this new year.

Whether it's things like: 

  • jammies, cozy socks, and tea or

  • slowly putting away holiday decorations at your own pace, or

  • limiting screen time so your body can rest and recover or

  • ________________________

Any of these things can help you so that you feel ready to focus on the new year when the timing is more aligned for you and your energy. Trying to push or force yourself to be ready when you're not isn't helpful for you. I promise you'll feel the shift happen, but for now please be gentle with yourself and honor the wisdom you're receiving.

However, if you are starting to feel the subtle shifts showing up for you right now, you may want to spend a little time, even 10 minutes investing in some journaling or listing themes that you feel guided to focus on throughout your new year. There's no one way or right way to do this; only the ways that resonate for you right now. You may feel guided to choose a word as a theme or perhaps you have a few themes or goals that you know you want to focus on this year. Maybe you want to make a new vision board or screen saver collage to help you to see the things that are a focus for you in 2024. Maybe you feel guided to use a combination of things to help honor and focus your intentions for your new year. In any ways that you feel guided to move through this process, you will find that it helps to move you forward. Any action that you take no matter how seemingly small helps to build momentum and supports you in taking the next steps. 

As you move through this process, I encourage you to include some dreams to your vision boards, lists, themes, and words. Often times, especially as adults we focus on the projects that are prescient, currently in motion, and things that are practical or pragmatic. These are worthwhile and important aspects to include in this sacred work. However, that being said, please leave a little room for dreaming, laughter, joy, fun, and play. After decades (yes...decades) of working with clients and students from all kinds of backgrounds, this is an area that shows up again and again. Please don't feel sad if you're thinking that these lighter or perhaps less prescient aspects of life weren't the first things that popped up for you as you were thinking about what might be on your list for 2024. You can include anything that you want, and these aspects are equally important and as valuable as the aspects that focus on the bottom line. You don't have to choose only from column A, you get to choose whatever you feel guided to choose and you can update your list at any time. Yes, you're worth it and no, you don't have to finish several items on your to do list before you can enjoy happiness, joy, and peace. You are worthy right now. 

This time of year, and this important beginning of the new year work can sometimes include reviewing the past year or maybe even several years. This is a natural part of the process. You may be continuing some work or themes that are currently in progress for you. You may find that this review process brings up a lot of emotions and memories for you. Sometimes those emotions can include grief or sadness. I want to gently remind you that these are natural feelings and experiences that can show up while doing this kind of work. Allowing yourself to move through these feelings can be a big support system for you. However, if you feel guided to reach out for support from someone else as well, that can also be a powerful support system for you. 

No matter where you find yourself today in this new 2024 energy, know that you're moving into the energy at the pace that is right for you. If you feel like jumping in and starting your year off with projects and activities that resonate for you, great! If you feel like moving a bit more softly and quietly into the new year, great! If you find yourself somewhere in the middle, great! You're not in a competition and honoring the guidance you're receiving about how to move into your new year is wise and sage advice. You're already meeting, adjusting, and working with the new energy right now and you get to choose how to do that important work that shifts you into this new year. 

I hope that you'll enjoy this process and the beginning of this new year. I'm so thankful to be sharing this new year with you! Thank you for being here.
