Curating Special Moments | Making Your Peace A Priority

Hi, I hope this finds you well as we officially welcome December.

I don’t know about you but I feel like time has been moving so quickly over the last several weeks and now here we are greeting the last month of the year. I hope that as you’re reading this, you’re able to take a little time out for yourself to relax, breathe, and take in the messages below that came through for you this month.

As each day grows colder and shorter here in the Northern Hemisphere we naturally feel guided to stay inside, to slow down, and to rest. However, this month tends to be so busy with lots of things to do, people to see, and places to go that it can sometimes feel a bit like a whirlwind. Many times people feel like they missed the holiday season because there were so many things that needed to get done and before they know it, it’s behind them. Maybe you’ve experienced this in the past and now try to make a concerted effort to slow down and take in the season in the ways that are meaningful for you. Sometimes people tell me that they secretly wish they could do _________ during the season but aren’t sure how make a change or do something differently. Shifts and changes are a natural part of life and if you’re being guided to shift something that you have done in the past and add something new or limit some activities this year, please know that you’re being divinely guided.

I’ve often found that highly sensitive people (like yourself) can experience a bit of an energy overload from lots of activities which can lead to feelings of exhaustion and a deep need to recharge your batteries. It can even lead to feelings of anxiousness about how to best prepare for all the get togethers so you feel your best while also keeping your systems in balance. If this resonates for you, you’re not alone. You may want to take a little breath here to help release any tension or tightness that may be showing up around this issue for you. Good. This is completely natural. The great thing is that one of the best ways you can enjoy this festive season while also taking good care of yourself is to be clear about what things or activities are a yes and which one’s aren’t. The great thing about using this technique is that there will be a clear yes and everything else is not a yes. Sometimes challenges come from the “well….maybe I can squeeze one more thing in even though I’m already scheduled pretty tight this week” style of scheduling. This kind of logical override or feeling obligated to make a no into a yes can lead to stress and pressure. When you ask yourself, “Is this a Yes?” You’ll feel, know, and hear it 100%. When something is not a yes, you will also know, it will be very clear for you. This allows you to bypass the “well maybe it can work” situations from the past. If you allow yourself to use this to support you in planning out your activities this season, you’ll find that you get to enjoy even more of the season and will find that your experiences can feel more meaningful and prescient for you.

Sometimes, some of the most magical moments are the ones that seem small, quiet, or simple. You get to decide what moments and memories are meaningful for you and yours. The truth is that the ways that you’re called to celebrate and honor the calling of your heart this season makes every Yes into a significant and special way to mark the season. Maybe you can take a little time today to ask yourself what aspects or activities are important to you so you can get clear on what your month will look and feel like. By taking a little time to find your Yes’s, you may find that you get to enjoy the season in a new way, one that resonates with you and your personal peace. Giving yourself permission to curate the season in the ways that are right for you and yours will be a gift that you and your loved ones will all get to enjoy.

I’m wishing you and yours a very Happy, Healthy, Holiday Season!

As always, I’m sending you love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world straight to you!
With deepest love and gratitude, thank you so much for being here with me~
Love,
Kristy~xoxo

P.S. I would love to hear some of your Yes’s if you feel guided to share them with me.
I’m looking forward to hot chocolate, warm jammies, cozy socks, movies, music, baking, and making some of my favorite holiday dishes this month. I hope to carve out some time for knitting and reading too.

Reaching for Peace

I hope this finds you well as we officially move into the final month of the year. If you celebrated Thanksgiving last week, I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend and are recovering from all the yummy food and festivities.

As we move into December, we move full swing into the holiday season and can feel the tempo of the energy increasing as we move toward the end of the year. This time of year brings up all kinds of things for us no matter where we are or how old we are. This time of year can activate old memories, nostalgia, excitement, and an opportunity to participate in favorite activities that mark this season for you or to create or cultivate new traditions that you enjoy. It’s also a time that can feel like it takes on a rhythm all its own and sometimes it can feel like the season is moving too quickly or that you aren’t able to be fully present in the way you want. This experience is universal, it’s not a message that you aren’t doing something right or that you aren’t trying hard enough to hold onto the holiday season; it’s part and parcel of this movement toward the end of the year.

In addition to the holiday season we’re also wrapping up the remainder of the Autumn season in the Northern Hemisphere and moving into Winter on December 21st. There are so many things happening this month and we get to move through these shifts and changes all while honoring the season in the ways that are right for us. One of the ways you can capitalize on the gentility and quiet spaces between all the things happening this season is by reaching for peace. This is something that will be personal to you and allows you to reach for peace in the ways that resonate for you. For some, it may mean saying yes to the aspects of the season that bring the most joy and fulfillment. For others it may mean saying no to too many requests for time away from home. It may mean embracing the simple and significant moments that are meaningful for you and yours. It may be sitting in front of the fire with a cup of cider or caroling or ________________. It could be preparing a favorite holiday dish or simply enjoying the sparkling lights that are popping up all over houses, streets, and trees each day. There’s no one way or right way to reach for peace this season. There are only the ways that are right for you and yours. In fact, you may find that one day you choose something that feels right and another day something else is the exact right choice. It’s about finding the right balance between saying yes to the activities that are right for you while also saying no to the ones that aren’t a fit this year. I promise, you’ll know which ones are a yes and which ones are a no. Just check in with yourself and you’ll receive a clear message. By checking in with yourself throughout December, you’ll find that you automatically experience more peace and presence; and you may find that you feel more connected to the holiday season at the same time.

As we turn the final page on the calendar this year, it’s also natural to take a little time to reflect on all that you’ve experienced during 2023. This review process may have already started for you, maybe you’re already looking over the things you’ve done, how you’ve shifted, and the things you’re bringing with you into the new year. This is a good time to allow yourself to gently review your year while also letting yourself move through this process in the ways that feel right for you. Maybe you keep a journal and you feel guided to read through it to reflect on your year. Maybe you made a vision board this year and you feel guided to look over it and see what you experienced and what is still being created and still in progress. Maybe you keep a photo journal and feel guided to scroll through your life in pictures or video to reflect on your year. Taking a little time to move through this process and to glean any takeaways from the themes you experienced this year can be very supportive. Like most things this season, there’s no need to push or force this process, rather move through it in the ways that feel right for you.

While there are lots of things happening this month, here we are at the very beginning which allows you to choose how you want to move through this holiday season and the last month of 2023. I invite you to take a little time today or tomorrow to check in with yourself about how you want to celebrate December. Leaning into the season in the ways that resonate for you will allow you to experience more presence and more peace. Moving at your own pace will allow you to make the most of this time and yes, you’re worth it.

I’m wishing you and yours a very happy and healthy holiday season and a happy new year!

As always, I’m sending you love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world, straight to you!
Thank you for sharing your year with me.
With love and deepest gratitude,
Kristy~ xoxo

Winding Down Within

Happy December, I hope this finds you well as we begin the final month of the year.

While I was thinking about this month and how it holds so much within it whether it’s holiday traditions, travel, time with loved ones, reflecting on the year, or preparing for the new year I was reminded how much polarity is held within December. There are so many things happening outwardly around us while we’re also being guided to slow down, to rest, and to enjoy the aspects of the season that speak to our souls. You may be feeling this experience already even though we’re at the very beginning of the month. If some of these things are already on your mind, that’s okay. This is a great time to take a few minutes to tune into your guidance about how you want to move through this time and this season.

You may have some special things on your list for this month that bring you joy, feel uplifting, and are restorative for you. Events, activities, and practices that resonate for you and that make you feel connected to this season; activities that are a definite yes for you. Your “definite yes” activities are wonderful and a powerful way to know which aspects of the season are calling to you this year. Sometimes, with so many invitations and activities, the things that can sometimes get set aside are the aspects of the season that involve quietly or gently nurturing ourselves. The cultivation of our inside care and comfort is as equally important as the other aspects of the season but often overlooked for a variety of reasons. When this happens, we can feel like we missed out on some of the joy or magic of the season because we weren’t able to fully experience it and take it in the way we hoped.

Something that can help is to think about ways you can honor your vision for the season and the things that are on your list while also taking good care of yourself; this can help create balance and a support system for you. I’ve included some exercises for you below to help you find the theme and aspects that are resonating for you this season. Please remember there are no wrong answers here and you can come back to this at any time you feel guided. This is just a way to connect to some ideas, inspiration, and guidance from your higher self about aspects of the season that are showing up for you this year.

Okay, let’s start with a deep breath, in through your nose and out through your mouth. Good, releasing any tension or stress in your neck, shoulders, or tummy, and one more breathe in and out. Good.

  • My Favorite thing about December is ___________________.

  • I look forward to ________________ all year because it makes it feel like the holiday season to me.

  • One of my favorite ways to comfort myself is to ______________________.

  • It wouldn’t feel like the holiday season to me without ___________________.

  • My favorite quiet activity to do during this season is ______________ because _______________.

  • The most meaningful aspects of this season to me include:_____________________________.

  • This month makes me feel_____________________________.

  • My favorite restorative practice right now includes_____________________________.

  • If I were to create a new tradition for the season this year, I would choose ___________ because _______.

  • I feel grateful for _______________ this year.

  • I am healing and continuing to work through ________________ this year.

  • I’m consistently caring for myself by______________ and I notice the impact it’s making because ______________.

  • If I could add one activity to my season this year it would be___________________.

  • A tradition I still honor each season is ______________ and it makes me feel ______________ because______________.

  • I feel like I need more Joy, Happiness, Love, Peace, Grace, or ______________ this season.

  • If I could let go of one invitation or activity this season, I would choose ______________ because____________.

  • I feel like I need more Gentility, Comfort, Understanding, Support, Rest, or ____________ this season.

  • My must watch movie for this month is __________________.

  • I feel called to spend time investing in ___________ this month.

  • If I could choose a theme for this season, I would choose______________.

  • My soul longs for _______________ this season.

  • I can honor my soul and theme for this season by __________________.

Great job! I hope this helped you to find some strong themes, insights, and inspiration into ways that you can honor yourself and your holiday season this year. Please remember that seemingly small shifts lead to big success. Investing in one or two aspects of the things that are meaningful for you this season can make you feel more connected, present, and joyful during this time. You don’t have to do everything all by yourself and it’s okay to slow down a little bit as you enjoy December in the ways that are right for you and yours.

I’m wishing you and your loved ones a beautiful holiday season and a very happy new year!
If you feel guided to work with me this month, I’m here and available to support you.

I’m sending you so much love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world right to you!
With love and gratitude,
Kristy~ xoxo

The Season of Light

Happy December~

I hope this finds you well as we welcome the season of light together.
This time of year brings with it lots of extra light; some in the form of teeny lights, fairy lights, lights on homes, in trees, and even in windows. Maybe you’ve already added extra light to your home too. There’s something special and almost magical that happens when you add light to extra spaces in your home. Those little extra lights help to stir something within in us on a soul level. Maybe you’ve noticed this happening for you too; the feeling of deep calm, comfort, quiet, and sometimes a welling up of love and fond memories. Maybe you’ve noticed how these extra lights have a soothing effect on the people in your home and if you have little fur babies, how they’re impacted by the extra light as well.

Often the light in combination with longer nights and darker days (for those of us living in the northern hemisphere) can create windows of opportunity for deep reflection, slowing down, and a focus on simplicity, and peace. There’s a calling from deep within us asking us to get quiet and to focus on the things that resonate with us on a core level as we prepare to move into a season of rest, renewal, and rejuvenation. While living in a modern world where the cyclical shifts of the seasons can feel like they’re happening next to us while we’re often living in a perpetual forward motion can be challenging. However, we can find ways to work with this push pull dichotomy so that we can integrate these experiences into our own lives in ways that work for us. We’re part of those cycles too and as we find ways to lean into them, we can find a place that feels more like us and feels more enjoyable.

Like most things, there’s no one way or right way to create this experience, there are only the ways that are right for you and your lifestyle; and you’re the only person who knows which ways are the right ways for you. If we think about lighting our lamp from within, we can focus on the aspects, areas, themes, or values that feel soothing, comforting, and like coming home as great places to start. Please remember that there’s no wrong answer here, and you can change your answers by adding to your list or removing things at any time you choose.

You may want to ask yourself the following questions to help you get started:

  • What do I know that I need to do for myself right now?

  • What is my body telling me that I need right now?

  • How can I nurture my soul right now?

  • In what ways can I create a space that feels supportive, soothing, and peaceful to me right now?

  • What kinds of sounds, scents, and textures feel like the right fit for me right now?

  • How can I cultivate a feeling that represents me right now?

  • Are there any things I can let go from my to do list right now? If so, what?

  • How can I lean into this season of light right now?

  • What does the season of light mean to me?

  • How can I light my lamp from within right now?

  • Is there a theme I want to focus on for this season of light? If so, what?

Some of the things that showed up for you may be things that you expected to find while others may be a surprise for you. Please know this isn’t another thing to add to your to do list but rather an opportunity to understand which areas or aspects of this season are speaking to you. The areas that are prescient for you may be similar to someone else’s but they may be entirely tailored for you. Give yourself permission to lean into your season of light in the ways that resonate for you. This can help to create a season that feels uplifting, supportive, and meaningful for you in a special way. It can also help you to slow down a bit and to feel the experience of the season, the cycles, and the celebratory qualities of this time of year.

This season can bring up lots of big feelings, emotions, and experiences. Sometimes, by taking a little time to cultivate and nurture your own light, it can help ease any big feelings that come up at this time of year. As the days grow darker and the nights longer, we’re given an opportunity to increase our own light and the light we have around us. My wish for you this season is that you allow your light to shine in full spectrum not only for the benefit of your loved ones but also for yourself. Feed your light with the love you have for your life. Fill your light with the things, people, situations, and activities that you love. You may want to add some intentions you have for yourself as well as you continue to light your lamp from within all season long.

In deepest gratitude and love, thank you so much for being here and being part of my life this year.
I’m holding you and yours in my thoughts this season. The light within me honors the lights within you.

I’m sending you all my love from my teeny tiny corner of the world right to you.

Love,
Kristy~ xoxo
