Simplify. Streamline. Stillness

goodbye-august-hello-september-images.jpg

Happy September!

I don’t know about you, but August felt almost as long as March did and I’m so grateful for a new calendar month. September always seems to mark a significant shift for me as we officially move into the “ber” months and can see the end of the year in sight even though we still have a way to go…it’s definitely in sight. For many this also creates excitement for a new season and all that it brings with it, cozy vibes here in the northern hemisphere and all the spring energy for the southern hemisphere. (Plus… it’s officially canning season…if you know, you know. wink)

This year though…it feels a little different.

2020, it’s still bringing so much tumultuous energy and ups and downs. September marks 6 months of lock down for me here in California and for many other states too. There’s a variety of closures and lock down levels all over the globe still happening combined with a lot of intensity. However, that being said there’s also a great deal of love, support, and service showing up in the middle of everything happening.

Maybe you’re experiencing this.

Maybe you’re creating this experience for someone else. (Parents + Teachers I’m looking at you)

Maybe you’re experiencing a bit of both.

One of the big themes that keeps showing up as we move into this new month is all about taking good care of ourselves and getting things back down to the basics.

I keep seeing this is especially important for highly sensitive people, like yourself.

The key words that came through for September were: Simplify. Streamline. Stillness

Even when I look at those words, I can feel a level of calm and comfort wash over me.

I hope that you can feel that gentility too.

I could clearly see this message as creating a calm in the eye of the storm.

Even with so many things happening around us, reaching for these themes this month will be a deep support system for highly sensitive souls.

This theme is not something to add to your to do list or make you feel like you have to find yet more energy or extra minutes in your day to experience this support.

It’s the exact opposite.

This is all about clearing away the things that aren’t needed right now to create space for you to be supported. Taking a few minutes today to mentally check in with yourself about what isn’t needed will allow you to begin this process of simplifying and streamlining.

You can probably think of several things right out of the gate that are not needed and not happening this month. Great job! Let them go and feel yourself feeling lighter already. Choosing to let things go this month doesn’t mean you can’t circle back to them at another time, it just means that you’re not going to add stress to your plate thinking about it, it’s off the menu completely.

Breathe.

I keep seeing an image of space, empty space. When you walk into a home, shop, office, or physical place (remember going into places?) that feels light, uplifting, and clear; you’re feeling space. You can physically feel open space and it feels good to us because it allows for breathing room and room to decompress.

So, think of this letting go as a way to create space for you this month. As you let go of extra things to do and you make your priorities the basics of what you need and want to focus on, you automatically get the calm and breathing room.

Now, you may be thinking “what if I can’t figure out what to let go and how to bring things back to the basics?” Just take a breath for me, you can do this.

There’s no one way or right way to do this and your way may look different than mine and that’s okay. The only thing that matters here is that you listen to the messages you’re receiving about how to move into the theme of Simplify. Streamline. Stillness.

You may decide that decluttering and donating is a must to get things out that need to go.

You may cut back your plants and put your gardens to bed or prepare them for cooler weather plants.

You may organize the piles of stuff for all the zoom calls and move all the things into their officially organized places so you can use your dining table for eating again.

You may put a stop to a project that needs to become a lower priority so you can do something more pressing.

You may feel guided to _______________________.

As you take action on the things that are showing up for you to simplify your life, you’ll also receive messages about how you can streamline your systems and day to day life too.

That’s the really cool and even magical thing about simplifying, you open up to solutions, and create space for the ways to implement processes that are going to be supportive for you.

These processes can be as simple and significant as setting up your coffee pot before you go to sleep so you wake up to fresh coffee.

Doing a quick pick up before going to sleep so you wake up to a space the feels good to you.

Laying out your things for the next day of zoom calls, phone calls, or whatever is on deck for you.

Prepping some food, snacks, or green drinks for a few days.

Setting out your workout stuff so you can get up and get it done right away.

These are just a few things that can help you to streamline and support your own wellbeing more easily.

As you focus on simplifying and streamlining you move into the stillness piece.

Getting into that quiet space that helps you to feel fulfilled and supported comes more easily when excess, white noise, and chaos energy is reduced to the best of our ability. When you clear away the things that aren’t needed you make space to lean into the things that fill you up allowing you to enjoy that stillness.

Stillness doesn’t have to mean silence.

Stillness doesn’t have to mean sitting on your meditation pillow.

You may find that stillness and connection through music, or through creativity. That stillness inside of us is stirred and nurtured when we do things that resonate with our souls. When we’re under great amounts of stress we need this connection even more and it often becomes one of the things that goes onto the back burner.

As you clear away the stuff that isn’t a focus this month, you make space for the things that do matter.

You matter.

Taking good care of yourself matters.

Investing time, even seemingly small amounts of time into the things that soothe your soul are worthwhile investments.

You are a worthwhile investment.

Creating space for breathing room is a gift that keeps on giving.

You are deserving of this gift.

So, at the beginning of this new month, please take a few minutes today to think about and connect with the ways that you can honor this theme of Simplify, Streamline, and Stillness for yourself and your home.

Trust the messages that come through for you, you know what is right for you.

As we buckle in for a month that feels like it’s bringing with it some intense energies and experiences, and as you choose to take good care of yourself, you’ll move through September more easily.

Focus on honoring your sensitivity by making some small but significant shifts this month.

You can do it and it will be worth it. Yes, you are worth it!

I’m sending you so much support as we walk through this time, together. We may not be able to see each other in person but I’m still here to support you over the phone, skype, or through distance sessions.

With deepest love and gratitude,
Kristy~ xoxo

P.S. In case you were wondering or if you’ve seen some of my Instagram stories; yes, I’m canning every little free minute that I can get and setting things up before I go to sleep and getting up really early to get a few more jars filled and a few more recipes off my check list.

Like most things this year, 2020 has made canning season a little more challenging too. There’s an aluminum shortage in the US, so there aren’t many lids or bands available which has forced me to choose only a fraction of what I usually put up each season. That’s okay, I’m so grateful that I’m able to do what I can and have been enjoying making jams, sauces, mustards, and more. I’m going to keep going until my last jar is filled and enjoy every minute of canning season even if it’s a little different this year. :)

Refocusing, Recalibrating, and Resetting for August

hello-August (2019_01_30 23_54_58 UTC).jpg

I hope this finds you well as we officially move into a brand new month together.

August.

Wow, this time of year usually marks something for me, and maybe you experience this too…even though it’s definitely still hot, there’s a shift that comes with hitting this month on the calendar.

A shift in energy.

A shift in focus.

A shift in readiness.

A shift in knowing that we’re moving back into a time of getting back to school, cooler weather is on the horizon for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, and an opportunity to get some things we have on our list front and center before we wrap up the last bit of the year.

It’s like being on the starting line waiting for the go signal to hit the ground running on this last bit of the year.

For me, even though I’m no longer a student, this time of year still stirs and nurtures these experiences for me and I still really love it.

This year, it feels like there’s a bit or a record scratch happening in the background of all of this energy…very loudly I must admit but still in the background.

Can you hear it too?

We may be experiencing similar record scratches or they may be different but we’re collectively hearing this happening and feeling all the feels about it too. We’re collectively having this experience together from our own homes all over the planet.

Maybe your record scratch is about whether or not you’ll still be working from home for the remainder of the year.

Maybe it’s about scrambling to find a way that’s right for you and your family to support your child’s education this back to school season.

Maybe you’re a teacher and you won’t be able to go back to in person classes this fall and you’re grieving being with your students.

Maybe it means more important dates in your life where you have to isolate, social distance, and experience separation from people and experiences which are important for you.

Maybe it’s all the things, and none of the things especially that makes it hard…the I can’t quite put my finger on it feeling.

Maybe you’ve baked all the sourdough you can handle, shared it safely with neighbors, and now don’t really know what to do.

Maybe you got more than 1 BINGO on the lockdown scoreboard you found on the inter-webs and feel you’ve been really upbeat about everything and now you’re burned out and don’t want to play anymore. (that’s okay by the way…totally natural.)

No matter where you’re at with all of this, you’re not alone.

Turning the corner on how we move toward the end of the year with a lot of these issues still part of our day to day can feel heavy, overwhelming, and downright dismal.

I’ve had people tell me that they don’t want to be a Debbie Downer but that they’re really sad and having a hard time because this has been going on longer than they expected.

I’ve had people tell me that they’ve lost momentum, feel disconnected, and that they’re experiencing sadness.

Many people tell me that they feel guilty for feeling this way because they feel grateful for so many other things that they have in their life.

Maybe this resonates for you too.

The truth is that this situation, the things that are happening directly to you within your world and the things happening in the larger outside world around you are impactful, real, and take a toll on you.

They take a toll on all of us.

There is no part of you that is wrong for feeling your feelings.

It’s healthy to feel your full spectrum of emotions, and to allow them to move through you in constructive ways.

You don’t need to hold back or be embarrassed for feeling the way you feel, even if you have happy things happening in your life too. You can be grateful, joyful, and appreciate and still have a hard day or hard moments throughout the day.

As we all lean into this big left turn that is August, let’s take a big deep breath in through our noses, and hold it at the top of the breath, and then exhale for a big clearing. Good….feel free to repeat if you need to.

The truth is that we’re going through a time of deep healing, clearing, and yes…upheaval too.

It looks like we are scheduled for some more bumps ahead; however, that doesn’t mean we can’t also allow this time to be a marker for us.

Maybe your marker will be:

Taking more time for rest

Slowing down a bit

Taking some things off of your list

Asking for help and allowing yourself to Receive it once it’s offered

Choosing 1 thing that’s important to you on a personal level to focus on as we lean into the rest of the year

Acknowledging how you’re doing and letting yourself be where you’re at…also remember to give yourself gold stars on your chart for your wins. (wins are really important no matter how many turns around the sun you’ve made.)

Scheduling support services where you could use it, so you don’t feel like you’re trying to hold everyone and everything up all by yourself all the time.

Just in case no one has told you this in a while, please let me be the person to tell you that you’re doing a really great job.

I can see you.

I see all the effort that you’re making and all the time you put in to keep things going for yourself and others.

You’re doing a really great job!

Thank you so much for all you do. Please make sure you take some time to be as good to yourself as you are to everyone in your world.

You are appreciated.

You are worthy.

You are valuable.

You are loveable.

You are enough.

You are enough.

You are enough.

With all my love and gratitude, I’m sending you so much support from my teeny corner of the world to you. I’m wishing you a healthy, happy, August…one with things to look forward to that feel good to you.

Love,

Kristy~xoxo

Digging Deep for Healing and Home

Ocean water 2 (2019_01_30 23_54_58 UTC).jpg

I know I usually send a little note at the beginning of each month, but last week I was under the weather and was getting the very strong message that I just needed to rest.

It seems like that has been a big theme so far this month, are you feeling it too? There’s been so much coming to the surface for so many people. The last few days it seemed like the number one theme for nearly everyone I talked to was all about Family of Origin issues coming to the surface.

Some things connected to Family of Origin can include but aren’t limited to:

  • Issues surrounding parenting style and family dynamic

  • Family Values or Family Stories

  • Roles within your family; including those you didn’t choose but that were assigned to you

  • Challenging the family norms

  • Breaking away or “violating the family story” (By calling out any hypocrisy or issues within that story or way of being.)

  • Black Sheep Issues or Experiences

  • Expectations, Pressures, and or Perceived Successes/Failures

  • Enmeshed Family Dynamics

  • Emotional Trauma and or Triggers

  • Self Actualization and Healthy Boundaries

  • Autonomy and Healthy Sense of Self

This area is really powerful and filled with lots of positives as well as pain points for people. If you’ve been noticing themes surrounding Family of Origin showing up for you too, you’re not alone. Sometimes this stuff shows up as memories, or we may hear a conversation play over again in our head which can bring it all back for us; and sometimes it shows up when we are around our family members or even just talking to them over the phone.

This is an area that can bring up lots of deep healing and room for growth for all of us which is a wonderful thing, but it can also be a challenge too. Sometimes, these issues can feel like a circular experience; right when we think we’ve cleared it, it shows up again. Like most healing processes, this isn’t something that is finished in one fell swoop, it’s more like the analogy of the onion, peeling layers back little by little.

This is such an interesting time we’re all moving through together but separately. With all of the intensity of this year, the lock downs, all of it; it feels like the deep healing that’s happening is even more prescient and palpable, especially for highly sensitive people like yourself. Deep Healing has been on the menu for a while this year and it seems like we’re getting yet another opportunity to focus on self care, deep clearing, and honoring the places and spaces that need some extra tender loving care right now.

One of the most important places we can focus our attention right now is our home. While home is definitely a place where we always want it to rise up to greet us, now more than ever we’re getting lots of opportunities to reconnect with our homes in so many ways. Maybe you’re finding yourself spending more time at home than you have in a really long time…I know I am. (That moment where you feel like you’re going on an adventure when you go into the kitchen…yeah me too.)

Any ways that you can make your home feel more like you and more like a place that fills you up will be so supportive for you right now. It will also foster a safe and gentle space for you to process and move through any healing that could be coming up for you now and in the future. I find that working on or investing in our homes, also helps to clear and heal Family of Origin issues that are showing up too. Home and Family of Origin are deeply connected and when we honor ourselves and our own homes, we can heal the pain points we are working on from the past.

Even if you aren’t living in your forever home right now, that’s okay you can still invest in making your space a place that feels supportive for you. There’s no one way to do this and you don’t have to spend a lot of money doing this either. Anything that feels like a fit for you will make your home a space that is more in alignment with you. Think back to when you were a kid and the times you wanted to change something in your room or move the furniture around so it felt better to you. It’s the same thing now, just some more space, and you get to decide if you’re going to go ahead and paint a wall a bold bright color or set up a cool loft area.

Some things that can really help to clear and create a sense of home and healing can include but aren’t limited to:

  • Streamlining, Focus on Keeping Things You Love

  • Clearing out Closets, Pantry’s, Linen Closets etc.

  • Organizing, Making Things More Accessible to You

  • Moving Your furniture Around for a New Look or Set Up

  • Changing Throw Pillows, Blankets, and or Bedding

  • Bringing in House Plants

  • Releasing things that have a heavy connotation for you but you’ve kept out of obligation

  • Smudging

  • Diffusing Essential Oils

  • Space Clearing and or Energy Clearing

  • Playing Music in Your Home Instead of the Television

  • Clearing the Outside Spaces of your Home Especially Around the Front Door

  • Only Allowing Kind and Respectful People Into Your Home

Making small but significant shifts can make a huge impact in the way we feel and the way we move through our day to day life. As most of us are continuing to stay home this will be a powerful way to honor and support your healing and self care at this time.

Remember that as you go through this natural healing process that it’s important to be gentle with yourself. Treat yourself in the same ways you would someone else you care about. Talk to yourself in the same ways and tone you talk to your loved ones and care for yourself with the same level of love, compassion, and kindness.

  • Breathe.

  • Go slow.

  • Listen to your body.

  • Rest when you feel guided, even if you’re not a napper, take a nap if you need it.

  • Drink more water.

  • Lean into your support services and tools.

  • Say no to extra demands on your time and energy.

You’re not alone.

This is a time of deep healing and honoring your needs is important work.

Everyone benefits when we take time to heal and to rest.

Remember you can’t give or help others when you’re exhausted, burned out, and empty.

Honoring your needs is the most loving thing you can do for yourself and for all of the people you love in your world.

I’m sending you lots of love, comfort, and support from my teeny little corner of the world to yours!
With love,
Kristy~ xoxo

Exhaustion, Fatigue, and Burn Out: How to Reset, Restore, and Replenish from Healer Burn Out

water and sand (2019_01_30 23_54_58 UTC).jpg

Hi, I’ve been thinking about you and wondering how you’re doing.

So much has happened since the last time we connected so I thought I would check in with you.

Last week, I hit a wall. You know the feeling right, when all of a sudden your body just says, yep, that’s it that’s all, I need a rest.

Even though you’re doing all the things you’re supposed to do to create a support system for yourself; sometimes you need more rest and genuine respite.

In addition to hitting a wall, I also put my back out, which is super frustrating + not fun at all. I was able to keep working which was great but in between sessions, I was resting and lying flat on the floor and doing all the things. (I’m much better now.)

The theme that kept coming up for my clients last week was deep exhaustion, burnout, and fatigue.

Maybe this resonates for you too.

With everything happening all over the world right now, it’s taking a deep toll on all of us.

No matter what you’ve been called to do on a personal level, you’re still being impacted physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually every single day.

Every single one of us are being called to the actions that are a fit for us and they may look different than someone else’s. However, they are equally important and equally impactful on you and your well-being.

One on the things I’ve been hearing a lot is that people don’t feel like they’re doing as much as someone else they know personally or based on something they’re seeing on the gram.

The overall feeling is that they don’t believe they deserve to feel so exhausted because they perceive their contribution as being less than someone else’s.

This belief can trigger feelings of guilt which can lead to trying to do more even if your body is telling you to take a rest.

This can also lead to worry, anxiety, insomnia, and lowered immune system to name a few symptoms.

Any kind of intensity and trauma is deeply impactful on all areas of our lives; and 2020 has been a nearly non stop influx of intensity. This level of stress is completely depleting for all of us and it’s natural for the body to experience physical signs letting us know we need to genuinely rest.

If you’re experiencing this, you’re not alone; in fact you’re in really good company and you’re right on time. Collectively, it feels like we’re all experiencing this need for deep rest across the board.

Like most things, there’s no one way or right way to experience rest, renewal, and restoration; there’s only the things that resonate for you based on your needs.

I’ve included the messages that I’ve received about this for you below so you can see which ones resonate for you. You’ll find that different things resonate for you on different days depending on your energy level and personal needs. However, what I know for sure is that this need for a deep rest is something we all need to honor.

Physical Support:

  • Increase Hydration + Water
Stress increases dehydration in the body so if you’ve been feeling parched, increase your H2O

  • Move your Body
Gentle movement is what’s been showing up, walking, stretching, and low impact activities

  • Light Foods and Beverages
Light, gentle, and cooling foods are showing up to help the body process + work more easily. Heavy foods, alcohol, and sugars can create inflammation in the body which can make you feel sluggish and fatigued.

  • Vitamins
Vitamin D from the sunshine is a big support system. There’s an overall message about increasing your vitamins and minerals so that you keep your immune system strong. (Especially because stress depletes the immune system.)

  • Grounding
Get your bare feet on the soil, sod, or sand as often as you can so you can absorb the negative ions and electrons from the earth and offload any surplus of positive ions you may have stored due to living under a tech umbrella. (This is especially important right now since so many people are working from home and their homes are filled with wifi.) Grounding helps to reduce inflammation in the body.

  • Detox
Infra Red Sauna or Sweating can support clearing away toxins that may be stored in your body contributing to inflammation and feelings of fatigue and exhaustion. Please use Infra Red Sauna according to the safety regulations. (You can detox by moving your body too, this is a natural detox system we have built in which is why we sweat when we exercise.)

  • WiFi
Turn your router and devices off while you sleep. Keep your phone out of the room or at least away from your head while you sleep. WiFi can lead to sleep disturbances, inflammation, and even intense nightmares especially for highly sensitive people. Turning off your router allows your body to truly rest and drop into deep reparative REM sleep more easily.

  • Sleep
Increased quality sleep is so important right now. The way the body heals is during sleep, so it’s imperative you’re experiencing deep REM sleep daily. Even if you need to nap and you aren’t a napper, give yourself permission to nap.

Mental and Emotional Support:

  • Talk About Your Feelings
Find someone you trust you can talk to about how you’re feeling; don’t hold everything inside of you because you don’t want to “burden” someone else. You need to find a way to release and talking is a powerful support system.  You can contact a professional if you don’t have someone in your circle to support you.

  • Write
Journaling is another powerful way to process your thoughts, feelings, and insights. Even if you aren’t a journaling kind of person, just writing on notebook paper or even post its and then throwing it away can help a lot.

  • Take A Break
Take a media break. The brain doesn’t differentiate between what you see and what you experience; it thinks it’s all happening to you so it turns on all the chemicals and trauma responses inside your body as a support system for you. We aren’t meant to be flooding our bodies with adrenaline and cortisol all day every day. These stress hormones take a huge toll on our bodies.

  • Boundaries
Say no to extra demands on your time, including but not limited to picking up the phone when you know that you can’t deal with any more additional stress from others.

  • Lean Into Activities You Love
Investing time in things that honor you and fill you up are like an elixir for your body, mind, and spirit. So, play music, work in your garden, swim, ride your bike, make art, read a book, color, soak in your tub, or anything else that resonates for you.

  • Let Go of Comparison
Focus on what you’re being called to do and honor that wisdom. Remember you may be called to something different than someone else and that’s okay. You may Not be called to showcase your efforts online; release the need to explain why you aren’t placing your actions into the public arena. You know what you’re being called to do.

  • Oils + Sense of Smell
Trauma is stored in the amygdala of our brains. The olfactory system which is also housed there, pairs scent with trauma. So, this is why people have such strong smell memories connected to traumatic events. The power of smell allows us to clear and heal trauma and move it out of the amygdala so we can begin to clear it. Oils, flowers, herbs, and simmer pots can all help to release tension and trauma from your mind and body.

Spiritual Support:

  • Meditation
5 to 10 minutes of daily meditation will help to reduce the stress and tension in your mind and body and bring you back to a place of balance and feeling more like yourself.

  • Calling on Your Angels and Guides
You are not alone, even if you feel lonely. Call on your spiritual support team to help you in all areas of your life. You can also ask them to give you a clear sign in your physical world that you’ll easily notice and understand to let you know they’re with you.

  • Tools
Toning, Smudging, Singing Bowls, Space Clearing etc. have been used throughout time because they work and allow us to clear and connect to our higher selves and spiritual support systems. If you have some tools that resonate for you, get them out and use them.

  • Prayer
The power of prayer has been documented over and over again and it works. If you’re called to pray for yourself, or someone else, this is a powerful support system. You can also ask to be placed onto a prayer list if you would like to receive prayer.

  • Ask for Support
Reach out for additional support whether through an intuitive session, an energy treatment, or other kind of spiritual support service that resonates for you. These kinds of sessions create huge shift, clearing, and a deep reset for the body, mind, and spirit.

Creating a recipe of support which resonates for you right now will offer you the extra support you need to begin to truly rest, restore, and replenish. Remember there’s no one way or right way to do this, just the ways that are right for you. Even if you “know” this please remember to implement this so that you can keep your body, mind, and spirit strong and balanced.

We need you.

You’re important, valuable, and seen.

Your contributions matter.

You make the world better by being here.

You deserve to feel healthy, happy, and strong.

Resting is an action.

Healing is an action

Investing in wellness is an action.

Honoring your needs is a healthy and honorable cause which benefits everyone.

I’m sending you love and support from my little corner of the world to yours.

Heavy Hearts; A Time for Healing

heart beach flowers (2019_01_30 23_54_58 UTC).jpg

Well we made it to the halfway marker for the year.., and as we start this new month, there is a palpable heaviness in my heart.

To say 2020 has been tumultuous would definitely be an understatement; however, the past week has been especially hard. I’m sure that you’re feeling it too.

There’s a heaviness within and around us, no matter where we are, as a global community we can feel it.

As a highly sensitive person you may be feeling physical experiences of your heavy heart showing up as:

  • Trouble Breathing/Holding your Breath

  • Mouth Breathing

  • Insomnia

  • Anxiety

  • Racing Heart

  • Chest Pain

  • Nervous Energy

  • Panic Attacks

You may also be experiencing mental, emotional, and spiritual effects from all of the intensity as well. Some symptoms of this strain can show up as:

  • Lethargy

  • Deep Waves of Grief

  • Fear

  • Heaviness

  • Confusion

  • Overwhelm

  • Trouble Focusing

  • Feeling of Being Disconnected from Source

  • Unsure of how to move forward or remember purpose

  • Analysis Paralysis

  • Self Medicating

  • Co-dependent Behaviors or Patterns

When we experience trauma, whether it’s direct or indirect it’s imperative that we move through it and actually allow ourselves to feel what we’re feeling. Often times highly sensitive people have been told they’re “just too sensitive” their whole lives or that they need to “toughen up and get a grip” so they often haven’t learned how to feel their feelings without ridicule or shame and tend to hold things inside. Many highly sensitive people experience imploding, where the hurt is all inside of them as this has been a “safe” pattern for them to feel their feelings while being surrounded by people who didn’t allow them to feel or express themselves in a healthy way.

So, while we’re moving through this time together; it’s of the upmost importance to give yourself permission to move through your emotional process; knowing that it’s part of the pathway toward healing. If you have little ones at home with you, allowing them to see you model healthy coping mechanisms and emotional healing are powerful lessons that you have the opportunity to share with them.

If you need support in moving through your thoughts, emotions, and experiences, please reach out for support.

You aren’t alone; and asking for help is very important.

If you feel called to physically get out and help, reach out to your local community to see what you can do. Remember this is something that you’ll be called to do, please don’t allow someone to coerce or guilt you into an action that isn’t a fit for you.

There are many ways to help including making calls, petitions, fundraising, raising awareness of groups who need volunteers etc. Tune into what your inner guidance is guiding you to do and allow others to honor what they’re being guided to do.

As a highly sensitive person, it’s important to hold strong boundaries around yourself especially if you have people in your life who want to drain the little bit of extra energy you have. Breathe, and know there is a difference between being there for someone and letting people deplete you.

Many Lightworkers are being called to do energy work, prayer, clearings, and healing at this time. If you’re being called to this work, please know that it’s very important and very needed right now. Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Support are all needed at this time, equally. In any ways that you’re being guided to serve, your actions are appreciated and impactful.

It’s important to go slow at this time, to the best of your ability and to rest when you can. Trauma is well, traumatizing and takes a huge toll on us.

  • This is the time to lean into your extra tools and support systems.

  • This is the time to allow yourself to receive help.

  • This is the time to lean into your support circle, even if your circle is purely digital.

  • This is the time to breathe, and to reset your nervous system.

  • This is the time to feel your feelings.

  • This is the time to ask for support when you need it.

As we continue to move through this week, I just want to give you a gentle reminder that there’s a full moon eclipse happening on Friday. Full moons can be intense and can lead to pressure building within and around us even in the most gentle times. So, please just pay attention to the way you’re feeling as we continue to move closer to the Friday energy and to be conscientious about where you go and what you do.

I’m sending you so much love, gentility, and comfort,

Kristy~xoxo

Why Does This New Moon Feel So Big?

gemini moon vintage.jpg

Happy New Moon!

This one feels like a big one, not that the other new moons aren’t big too; this one just seems to be holding so much within it.

Are you feeling it too?
Is the energy showing up in your life in a big way too?
Maybe you’ve been feeling it pulling you into its tractor beam all week…I know I have.

One of the things that’s really been showing up for me around this new moon is how there’s movement for people in different places, all over the world. There’s this shifting happening; and on some level all of us can feel it. There’s a shifting happening within as well as around us even if it isn’t happening within our own community.

  • Maybe you’re living somewhere that’s beginning to reopen.

  • Maybe you’re living somewhere that’s been open for a while.

  • Maybe you’re living somewhere that’s not opening in any way but you’re surrounded by communities that are opening.

All of these situations, no matter which one you’re experiencing is impacting us personally and collectively.

There was a feeling of solidarity in the joint experience of all of us sheltering at home, separately but together.

Now, things are shifting and so are we.

The emotions and experiences during this time have been intense and similar to being on a roller coaster that doesn’t end…it just keeps going.

Now that we’re moving into this new space, there’s a whole new batch of emotions and feelings circulating; which is totally natural.

  • Some people are experiencing grief over not getting enough done during this time, or not using this time to truly rest, restore, and replenish.

  • Some people are experiencing feelings of uncertainty about how to move forward and when it will be the right timing for them to dip their toes back into their “regular” day to day life.

  • Some people are feeling angst or frustration as they see loved ones returning to activities that they want to experience but can’t due to their local regulations.

  • While others are feeling excited and grateful to participate in some of the activities which are meaningful to them outside their homes.

No matter where you find yourself, today; know that you’re not alone.

How you’re feeling about where you are and what’s happening around you is the exact right thing for you; even if it looks different than someone else.

As we lean into this new moon today; this is a perfect time to think about how we want to move forward into this next season or space.

What do you want to nurture or invest in as you think about what’s important to you and your life moving forward?

  • What would you like to build or support in your world?

  • What things are no longer a value for you?

  • What things have run their course for you?

  • Which people, situations, and dynamics are finished for you?

  • Which positive experiences, values, lifestyles, and feelings are you going to spotlight, make priorities, and the focus of your new life?

This new moon time is a beautiful time to draft, create, and focus on what your new day to day will look and feel like.

  • Who will be there with you?

  • What will you be doing?

  • What will it feel like?

  • What will it look like?

  • What will your main values and focus be?

  • What will this make you feel?

This time at home has made many things abundantly clear, some of the biggest take-aways for most people have been things that aren’t a fit any longer (even if they never were, now it’s crystal clear) and what’s truly important to people in the bigger picture.

So, today, take a few minutes to think about what has shifted for you during this stay at home time and what is shifting within you now as things are beginning to change again.

Focus on what you want to grow, nurture, and experience.

Feed those values and experiences that resonate with you so they grow and flourish.

You know what’s right for you going forward and this is the time to claim them in your heart and in your mind. (You can proclaim it out loud if you feel so compelled.)

I’m sending you so much support and encouragement as we continue to move through these big shifts, together.

With love,
Kristy~xoxo

How to Notice and Work Through Feelings of Being Unsettled

2.png

I just wanted to check in with you about a strong theme that’s been showing up over the last several days.

There’s this energy that’s been showing up, a feeling of needing to get going. A deep feeling, a pull, and a deep beckoning to get things done and to hit the ground running. While there are changes happening and people going back to work in some places, it’s important to give yourself permission to be where you’re at right now.

You may have inspiration and motivation to get some things done on your lists, which is absolutely wonderful! By all means, get your projects and plans set into motion in the ways that are right for you.

However, you’re not in a race or in a competition with anyone else.

It’s natural to feel the energies around you which may be buzzing with getting back to work and back to all the things. However, this level of intensity may make you feel like you have to play beat the clock or that the stay at home order is running out and you won’t have “enough” to show for your time at home.

If you’re feeling like you wish you could’ve done more during this time at home, please let that go.

If that should’ve done this, or that, or… have found you, please let that go.

You’re doing the best you can. We’re all doing the best we can with where we’re at and that’s all anyone can do. (or expect of you.)

This has been a unique and challenging time and you’ve moved through it in the ways that were right for you. It might not look like someone else’s experience and that’s okay.

Maybe you were baking all the sourdough
Maybe you were doing all the gardening
Maybe you were doing all the meditation and prayer work
Maybe you were doing all the zoom sessions
Maybe you were checking in on the elderly neighbors

Maybe you weren’t

Maybe you were taking things one day at a time
Maybe you were taking things one hour at a time on some days
Maybe you were taking care of yourself and those you’ve been sheltering in place with in the ways that you needed at that particular time.
Maybe you leaned into some much needed rest, quiet, and healing that you’ve needed for quite some time.

No matter what this time has looked like for you, it is Enough.

You are Enough.

Being where you are is important and you’re doing the best you can.

If you’re doing the best you can, that’s all anyone can expect of you. (no matter what you’ve been told by family members, mentors, supervisors, strangers on the gram, and yourself.)

So, breathe, check in with where you are and how your energy feels right now.

Ask yourself:

Am I being guided to do something on my list, today?

Or

Am I being guided to add a bit of rest and self care to my list, today?

Whatever is right for you, right now, in this moment, today; please give yourself permission to go at your own pace and focus on what is right for you, and only you.

So, I’m just checking in to tell you that you are enough today and every day.

Your stay at home time has been what it was meant to be for you, and it will continue do so for as long as you’re at home.

I’m sending you support, comfort, and a high five from my home to yours.

With love,
Kristy~ xoxo

How to Maintain Your Sacred Space While Holding onto Your Sanity...When Your Home is Your Sanctuary…Plus Office, Gym, Movie Theatre, School, etc.

home sweet home.jpg

I was just thinking about you and thought I would drop a line to see how you’re doing.

One of the things that’s been a bit of a struggle for me lately is managing all the new jobs that my home has to do while also finding a way to continue to create a space where my home rises up to greet me and feels like a sanctuary.

Are you finding this to be a bit of a head scratcher too?

Please tell me I’m not alone in this one; it’s been a bit of a one step forward one step back kind of dance during this shelter in place order. I find that like most things right now, there’s this roller coaster of emotions tied into little wins and then little (or larger) setbacks which can feel overwhelming.

A few days ago I decided to sit down and really look at this issue and tune in to see what some of the large issues were that were contributing to this push pull dynamic I was experiencing.

Here’s what showed up for me, I thought maybe it could be helpful and supportive for you too.

The first big issue that I saw was all about Tech.

I know… this is one of those things that’s woven into the fabric of our lives at this point and right now even more so than usual. However, that was the big take away, our homes are literally being filled with wifi, screen energy, and nearly non-stop tech energies pumping into all areas nearly non stop at this point.

For most of us, even those who work from home, this is at another level, especially if you’re home schooling and have a partner working from home too. So, these energies are impacting us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually in ways we aren’t used to, all day every day.

This build up if you will, is starting to have an impact on the way we feel, think, and experience our day to day life.

Some of the symptoms showing up include but aren’t limited to:

  • Lethargy

  • Exhaustion

  • Sadness/Meh

  • Cloudy Thinking

  • Inflammation

  • Joint Pain, Strain, or Tension

  • Feeling Intense Swings in Mood

  • Easily Triggered by Current or Past Situations

  • Looped Thinking Cycles, Usually Negative

  • Agitation, Frustration, Anxiousness, Overwhelm

  • Feeling Like You Can’t Pull Yourself Out of a Funk

  • Sleep Disturbances

  • Insomnia

  • Night Terrors

If you’re experiencing any of these, please know that you’re not alone. There are simple but significant shifts you can make to help support you in clearing these energies from your home.

The other 2 areas that showed up were:

  • Too Much Time Indoors Breathing Recirculated Air and a Lack of Full Spectrum Sunlight

  • Being Ungrounded

The good news here, is that all 3 of these areas are completely connected to one another which means that we can get some traction and forward motion with all of them with a little bit of effort.

There is no one way or right way to do this, only the ways that are right for you today.

I’ve included some ways that showed up for me and I hope that they will be helpful for you and a jumping off place for you to create some custom support systems for you and your home.

Clear Out the Tech Energy:

Literally Open the Windows and Run Your Ceiling Fans to Clear it Out of Your Home

You will bring fresh air into your home at the same time which helps to clear out that recirculated air you’ve been breathing too. Tech energy creates an energetic woven fabric that holds space like an umbrella and pushes the energy down in your home and it pushes you down too. When you air out your home you’ll literally feel a lightness return to your spaces. Highly sensitive people like yourself can often see that the rooms look lighter, brighter, and larger after being aired out.

If it’s already hot or still cold at your home, either open your home up early in the morning or in the evening or bundle up if you have to so you can clear out this dense and unhealthy energy. A few minutes will make a big difference if that’s all you can do. If you can air out your home longer, great go for it.

Turn Off the Tech Energy:

If you can turn off your wifi or at least place your devices on airplane mode at night, it will make a big difference in the way you think and feel in the morning. You will notice that your sleep will be better too.

If it’s possible to reduce the rooms in your home that are using screens and dedicate it to specific spaces, it will help to keep it from being all over everywhere all day long. If this isn’t possible, that’s okay, just try to remember to turn it off when you’re finished instead of leaving all your devices running 24/7. I know it’s easier to let everything go to sleep mode, but if you turn things off, you’ll notice a palpable difference.

Go Outside:

I know this one seems obvious but with so much added screen time and indoor time, it’s easy to forget to go outside. The I just have to finish one more thing syndrome has been supersized for most of us right now and before we know it, the day has passed and we haven’t gone outdoors at all. Instead, we’ve been inside in front of screens under the tech umbrella. (Don’t judge yourself, this is something we’re all experiencing apart, but together right now.)

Even if you can only go for a 15 minute walk around your block, give yourself permission to do that. Schedule it into your phone if that works for you so you’ll get outside to breathe some fresh air, get some full spectrum sunlight, and stretch your muscles. Our bodies are like sponges so all that tech energy is sitting inside of us too. When we move and sweat, we can get it cleared out.

If you have a fancy home gym and you’re working out regularly, way to go! I still encourage you to get outside even if just for that walk around the block. Getting outside helps us to get grounded and get more connected to our natural rhythms again and feel more like ourselves again too. Getting outside also clears our aura and energy body. Win. Win.

Clean Your Home:

Again, this one seems super obvious, but cleaning is a sacred act (while it may not feel super sacred while scrubbing your tub) it is a powerful way to clear out energies that you don’t want in your home while infusing it with intentions, blessings, and the energy that you want to keep within your home. This is where we get the, your home is your sanctuary, or your home should rise up to greet you when you walk through the door. Both of these adages are true and impact all areas of our lives.

Whether you’re lightly cleaning or you’re giving your sanctuary a deep clean and refresh, know that you’re resetting and rebooting your home back to its factory setting that you’ve chosen for yourself and your family. You can always add upgrades by including new intentions and blessings for your home while you clean.

Work With Your Angels and Guides:

You can ask your angels and your guides to clear your home and property of any energies that are not a fit for you and your home. (This doesn’t exempt you from cleaning.) This is a beautiful way to clear on an even deeper level while also bringing your spiritual support team into your day to day life.

Smudge:

You can smudge and sage your home and property to clear any dense energies that you would like to move along. Research also shows that sage is antibacterial and antimicrobial so it can support clearing the air in your home. Please never leave your sage burning unattended and keep away from little hands and paws.

Essential Oils:

Diffusing essential oils can be a deep emotional support while also filling your home with soothing, uplifting, and calming energies based on the oil you choose to diffuse. There are endless combinations you can choose to nurture a positive environment in your home. There are many oils that are antibacterial and antimicrobial too. Essential oils are made from plants, so bringing them into your home helps with grounding too. (If you’re looking for essential oils, send me a message and I’ll help you.)

Blessing Floor Wash:

I love this one. This one always feels very palpable to me and it makes me feel like I’m bringing something from the ancient past into my current modern life. I also love that you can make it different each time based on the intentions and needs of your current situation. It feels like a blessing, energy treatment, and huge hug for my home all at the same time.

You’ll Need:

  • Your favorite natural hard floor cleaner

  • Mop and Bucket

  • Water

  • Variety of Fresh Picked Herbs from your kitchen garden (or from the farmers market or from your neighbor) Lavender, Rosemary, Mint, and Sage are some great options, but choose whatever calls to you to create your blessing floor wash.

How To:

  • Fill your mop bucket like usual with water and cleaner of your choice

  • Rub the whole fresh herbs between your hands to release the scent and oils and then add them to the water (no need to cut or separate the flowers from the stems)

  • Add intentions and blessings to the water

  • You can ask your angels and guides to bless your water too if you feel guided.

  • Then, mop your home as usual.

The herbaceous water will fill your home while also cleaning and blessing your home and all who live with you.

You will be able to smell all the herbs and feel the shift from the ground up in your home. This is a physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually infused clearing and you will be able to feel it.

I hope these ideas will help you to clear you and your home from these heavy or dense energies that are impacting all of us right now. Please know that you’re not alone even if you’re sheltering in place alone.

Being gentle with yourself is the first and foremost area to focus on right now.

Try to go at your own pace and treat yourself with tender loving care as we all take this one day at a time.

My hope is that some of these ideas will be a fit for you which will support you in feeling more like yourself and support you in treating yourself with kindness and care.

Please know that there’s no one way to do this, there’s only the ways that are right for you today, right now in this moment.

I’m sending you so much support and gentle energy from my little corner of the world.

We’re in this together even though we’re physically apart.

With love,

Kristy~ xoxo

Lean Into Where You're At, Right Now

peonies (2019_01_30 23_54_58 UTC).jpg

I wanted to send you a little note to let you know that I’m thinking about you and also to remind you that…

It’s okay to be where you’re at right now.

Even if you are feeling meh.

Even if you are feeling all the feels one minute and then not so much the next.

Even if you aren’t sure how to feel or what to do because you’ve kinda done all or most of the things you had on your list.

Even if you just find yourself feeling somewhere between where you were yesterday and where you want to be tomorrow.

It’s okay to be where you’re at right now.

Yep, even in those same sweats, yoga pants, and top knot.

Even in the spaces where you don’t even feel motivated to do anything but watch something you’ve already watched countless times.

Even in…
Yep, even then.

As we move deeper into our time at home; lots of stuff is coming to the surface and we’re all going through it, you’re not alone. Even if you’re physically sheltering at home alone, you’re not alone.

The highs and lows of this experience is no joke and you’re not imagining that it’s like a roller coaster with twists and turns you may not have expected.

Like most things, there’s not one way to move through this time; there’s only the ways that are right for you. However, the more you can allow yourself to be where you’re at, the gentler you’ll be on yourself at this time.

Sometimes, highly sensitive, high functioning, overachievers (like yourself) can tend to put their own needs and feelings on the back burner from time to time. (cough cough…most of the time) During an intense life event like this one for example it can be easy to lean into trying to do more and to keep pushing uphill.

While getting things checked off your list is great, it’s also critical to acknowledge when the thing on your list is to rest, feel the feelings, have a hard day, ask for help, and just be where you’re at right now.

Leaning into where you’re at doesn’t mean that you’re neglecting the things you want to do or need to do during this time. It means that you’re choosing to place yourself on your list too. While self care might look different to you right now than it used to, it’s still care and right now what we all need more of is care.

Tender loving care.

So, take a breath and ask yourself how you’re feeling today and what you need to do for you.

I promise you, you’ll easily hear, see, feel, or know the answer and I encourage you to give yourself permission to honor the answers that you receive.

Without guilt

Without shame

Without judgement

Without compromise

Honor where you’re at right now and lean into it.

Your body knows what it needs.

Your soul knows what it needs.

Your mind and emotions know what they need.

You know what you need.

Take good care of yourself right now in the ways that are right for you.

Right in the middle of this mess.

Right in the middle of where you are right now.

Right in the middle of all the things you have to do.

Right in the middle of all of it, take good care of yourself and lean into where you’re at right now, right this minute, today.

If you could use some support right now, please reach out for support from the people in your circle even if they aren’t sheltering at home with you.

You’re not alone, even if you feel lonely.

I’m sending you so much love from the middle of where I’m at right now, today.

I see you, I’m here for you, we’re in this, together.

With love,
Kristy~xoxo

#30MoreDays: Sheltering In Place 2.0…How To Move Forward Now

little cottage.jpg

Hello!

We made it to April! It feels like a big moment to know that it’s officially April and this is a new month and a new beginning. Even though we’re still sheltering in place, apart… but together… it still feels like this new month is a breath of fresh air and an opportunity to tap into a fresh start.

There’s a definitive shift in this energy, you can probably feel it too, it’s almost palpable. While we’re still sheltering in place, the feeling of this #30moredays feels much different than the last several weeks. The issues that were prescient at the beginning of this stay at home order while still on the forefront seem to be impacting us at home in a different way as we move forward. Are you feeling this too?

There’s a feeling now that we’re all in this together, and that we in some way have found a bit of a rhythm in how we move through our day to day life at this time. We can see how neighbors are supporting each other, the kindness of strangers being shared online, and even the human experience of overwhelm and frustration being shared over the inter-webs. This common theme of connection even though we’re apart has helped us to feel less alone and in many ways seen and understood. The irony of finding community while being inside is so surreal but so powerful at the same time.

So many people have some things sorted out that were up in the air 3 weeks ago.

  • Maybe you’re finding your groove as a sudden + unexpected homeschooling professional.

  • Maybe your littles are streaming their classes via zoom and now you’re a zoom expert even if you’ve never heard that word in this context before all of this.

  • Maybe you’ve found or reconnected to your love of cooking, baking, and hanging out in the kitchen.

  • Maybe you’ve made an effort to create and participate in group chat calls, again getting your zoom skills to a professional level!

  • Maybe you’re enjoying being home and really reconnecting to your space, surroundings, and the healing quality of home.

  • Maybe you’re getting some projects and items checked off your to do list.

  • Maybe you’ve picked up your musical instrument, knitting needles or crochet hooks, paintbrush, garden gloves, or a book you’ve been meaning to get to when you had some down time.

  • Maybe you’re still working full time from home and you’ve found a way to adjust to a new normal work wise.

  • Maybe you and your partner are both working from home full time and are finding a way to get into a rhythm in your work space and style.
(Do you need it silent while your partner works best while blasting music and talking super loud to their clients?.....Does this seem super specific? It is, because this is a peek into my situation, lol)

  • Maybe you (or your loved one) is an essential professional and are working on the front lines at this time. We all see you, yes, all of us, the global community see’s you and we appreciate you!

As we move into this next phase of sheltering in place, I see that a deep focus on self care and gentility is very important.

The first phase focused a great deal on what felt like an overnight adjustment to nearly ever part of our day to day life. A crash course in how to do everything differently beginning now was the overall feeling.

Sheltering In Place 2.0 feels more like a deep call to gentility, slowing down, and being very gentle with ourselves. Yes, all the things still need to be done but this feels different than last month.

The majority of everyone I worked with or talked to last month was scrambling to do all the things they needed to do while also trying to find ways to keep busy since they couldn’t leave the house. One of the biggest themes that showed up for people was an intense level of stress, anxiety, and the biggest one forgetting to breathe.

Yes, forgetting to breathe.

Maybe you’re noticing right now that you’ve been forgetting to breathe too.

When we’re under stress, the body goes into a natural stress response and we begin to either hold our breath or breathe through our mouths. (No, mouth breathing isn’t the natural way the body is set up to breathe.)

It makes perfect sense that during a crisis all of us would experience an increase in stress which turns on our natural stress response.

So, making a concerted effort to remember to breathe right now is very important. You can set an alert on your phone to give you a gentle reminder. You can place a sticky note on your fridge, laptop, or bathroom mirror. You can ask someone you live with to gently remind you to breathe if they notice you’re holding your breath. Any ways that support you in breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth will be very beneficial for you right now.

Even taking 3 deep breaths in through your nose slowly and exhaling out through your mouth will help to reset your body and help to clear away stress and tension from your body and mind.

This month as you set your intentions for April and for your #30moredays maybe you can make the theme about self care and self love.

Sometimes these become buzz words and people think oh yeah I know all about that but they don’t really implement them into their daily lives. This is a perfect time to practice these very important support services for yourself and the people sheltering in place with you.

I’ve included some ideas to support you in slowing down and being gentle with yourself during shelter in place 2.0. This is just a small list to help you generate some of your own ideas, this is by no means a be all end all list.

Quiet Time:
Yes, remember quiet time? Schedule this into your schedule daily this month. A 10 minute block a day will make a huge impact in how you feel. You can practice conscious breathing, meditate, or journal during your quiet time. Please don’t use your quiet time to scroll as it tends to ramp up stress and anxiety and this is time for you to reset, restore, and replenish.

Walk It Out:
Many communities are still allowing walks in your neighborhood; if you’re one of these folks, lace up your shoes and walk it out. You’ll physically move stress out of your mind and body and you’ll increase your endorphins while also getting some much needed fresh air and sunshine.

Music Over Scrolling:
Listening to music soothes and supports the nervous system and actually increases mood.
Scrolling Instagram or whichever platform you love can increase tension, stress, and fear energies. So, opt for listening to music rather than going into a scrolling hole.

Slow is the New Hustle:
Focus on Moving Slower. Breathing Slower. Doing Things Slower.
You may notice that you feel guided to push yourself harder, to go faster, to get it all done, to not stop until everything is finished. When you notice this, breathe and take a moment to refocus. This isn’t a time to be pushing yourself to go against your natural body rhythms but to reconnect and honor your natural pace which is much slower than what you’ve become used to in last 2 decades.

Get Grounded:
When we reconnect to our true selves, our body, and the natural world we become more grounded, focused, and in tune with our real feelings, thoughts, emotions, and sense of self; we feel more like the real us. If you have house plants, water, propagate, and slow down with them. Maybe you can plant a little garden on your balcony or in a patch of dirt in your back yard. Smudge your home, spruce up your space, get outside and if it’s warm enough take off your socks and shoes and put your feet in the grass while you watch the clouds roll by.

Lean Into What Soothes Your Soul:
Choose to do things that you haven’t been able to do but genuinely love. It may be something that you haven’t done in years or it might be something seemingly simple like playing a board game or putting together a puzzle. Make a pot of tea and drink out of your favorite fancy “waiting for the perfect day” tea cup.  Make something, bake something, do the DIY’s, dry flowers and herbs, learn to make those tinctures you’ve been wanting to make, wear your fancy pajamas just because they make you feel good…or anything that soothes your soul.

This is a perfect time to honor and truly practice real self care and self love.

  • Go slow.

  • Do what you can right now but honor your needs at the same time.

  • Breathe.

  • Reconnect to you and honor and invest in your needs, wellbeing, and rest right now.

I’m sending you so much love and support from my teeny tiny corner of the world!

I’m still working and available to support you right now if you feel guided to schedule a session with me.

With so much love and gentility,
Kristy~xoxo

Top 5 Things to Do When You 1st Start Working From Home

closet office pic.jpg

Take Control of Your Morning

Were you a commuter? Did you have to be up early to get to your office or place of work?
Grab these precious hours now that you’re home and use them for you! Here’s what I mean, keep waking up like you would before the quarantine and use that time for you. Once your day gets going, it’s easy to lose that morning time which can be used to invest in yourself. So, have a cup of coffee in the quiet, journal or read something inspirational, get a workout in, meditate, or soak in your tub. Grab those morning hours and use them to support you.

Get Dressed

Seems like a no brainer but this is one of the most important things for new lap top life professionals. It’s easy to get stuck in your jammies and not get a break from your work for hours which can leave you feeling less than awesome. So, get up and wash your face, brush your teeth, comb your hair, and change into fresh clothes and not jammies. Even if you put on house clothes or athleisure so you can sneak in a workout during the day, great. Just get up and get dressed, you don’t need to wear full hair and makeup unless you want to but hair, teeth, face, plus fresh clothes is a must.

Dedicated Work Space

This is really important, even if your dedicated workspace is a small table in your laundry room or guest room or in your living room, make it your dedicated work space. You may feel tempted to work in bed, please don’t do this. You want to be able to rest in bed when you’re finished for the day and working from bed activates that space in your body and mind as a place you should be working and creates sleep challenges. Tons of psychological research about this, I won’t bore you with the details, just try to avoid it completely.

Dedicated Schedule

Stick to a schedule. Decide when you’re going to clock in and out and make it a conscious choice so you can stop when you’re finished and refuse the temptation to keep going with “just one more thing.” I’ll let you in on a little secret, there will always be one more thing, you must stop at the end of your official work day otherwise you’ll never stop. This leads to burn out and a compromised immune system, you don’t want either of those situations. Build in your lunch break and force yourself to take it and eat your lunch away from your dedicated work space. Just like not working in bed, don’t eat at your desk, see something else, move to a different area of your house, even if that means the kitchen table. Do something else while enjoying your lunch; give your eyes a break from screens and try not to make scrolling the thing you do while enjoying your lunch. If your littles or partner are home, eat lunch together and have a conversation.

Remember to take 2 15 minute breaks in addition to your lunch break. Set an alarm on your phone, yes, I’m serious and then get up when they chime. Don’t ignore or push through the break, you need to physically get up and take a break from what you’re doing.

Go to the bathroom…I know….I know but most people forget to go to the bathroom when working from home.

Drink water…same as above. People forget to drink water when working from home. Keep a bottle at your work space and sip it throughout the day.

Don’t Do Chores
It may be really and I mean really tempting to do laundry, clean, mop, and just do a quick ________.

Don’t do it, stick to your work schedule.
Working from home doesn’t mean you aren’t really working.
You need to protect your work hours in the same way you would if you were at your office or place of work. You wouldn’t walk out in the middle of a meeting to go pop your laundry into the dryer. Respect your work, yourself, and your work schedule. Don’t give in to the temptation to work and do your chores at the same time. It doesn’t work and you’ll feel frustrated because everything will be half done and you’ll feel pressured to work into the night to try to get it done. The chores will be there waiting for you and you can do them when you aren’t working just like you did before the quarantine.

Please know that I’m sending you love, gentility, and supportive energy. I’m here for you and you’re not alone. If you want to work with me right now, I’m still available for phone, skype, and distance sessions. (There’s a special price point too.)

With love and support,
Kristy~

P.S. In between sessions I’ll be hunkering down and cooking, baking, organizing, stitching, sewing, and enjoying some Movie Marathon’s. Harry Potter, the Matrix and Dark Shadows seem to be calling my name right now. xoxo

25 Ways to Move Through This Time A Little Easier

heart beach flowers (2019_01_30 23_54_58 UTC).jpg

I hope this finds you well as we all move through COVID-19 together. I’m currently writing to you from my home since I’m unable to go to my office and I’m quarantining with my husband and our kitty.

I don’t know about you but the tension, stress, and uncertainty where I am is palpable; and if you’re feeling it too, I want you to know that you’re not alone. As a highly sensitive person you may be feeling overwhelmed and in need of extra rest, comfort, and tlc.  You may find yourself being a big support system for the people in your world right now too, which can add even more intensity and pressure to your plate. I know that I’m definitely feeling all the feels and needing extra comfort right now. In fact I’ve been meaning to send you a message for a few days but I’ve just needed to rest and nap when I can in between phone and distance sessions.

I wanted to send you a little note to let you know that I’m thinking about you and your loved ones and wanted to share some things that are helping me right now. I hope that you’ll find some things here that really speak to you and will add to your comfort + support right now too. This is by no means a be all end all list, and hopefully it will spark some great ideas + inspiration for you.

I’ve also included a bonus list for you below of my top 5 things to do when you 1st begin working from home if you’re finding yourself suddenly part of the lap top lifestyle + digital platform professionals team. (We’re so happy to have you join us!)

20 Things to Do During Quarantine:

  1. Read a Physical Book or Listen to Audible
(Let someone tell you a story; this is a great one if you need to help your body let down and relax.)

  2. Organize a drawer, closet, pantry, or your garage.
Take this time to get some of those organization projects off your list. It feels sooo good to get things organized and to have a new system in place plus it brings new and revitalized energy into your home.

  3. Creative Project
Get out some partially finished creative projects and spend some time working on them or begin a new project. Keep them where you can get to them so you can just enjoy your creative process without having to dig them out every time you feel guided to work on them. (Creativity is a big stress and tension reducer + turns on calm in the body.)

  4. Learn to do something new that you’ve been meaning to do.
Search youtube videos to help you find a tutorial for your particular thing and go for it. Or if you have books, dvd’s, or class notes about it, get those out and lean into the learning process.

  5. Color or Draw
Get out your markers, crayons, colored pencils, paper, coloring books, construction paper, and poster board and get creative. Color or draw while you’re watching a movie or listening to music. (Creativity turns on calm while naturally releasing built up tension and stress.)

  6. Cook
Yep, dig into a cookbook or find a recipe online and reconnect to the joy and healing qualities of cooking from scratch in the kitchen. Even if you feel you’re a little rusty or you don’t have much experience cooking, start out with something easy and use this time to increase your skill set and love of cooking.

  7. Bake
Did you love baking cookies when you were little? Does the idea of baking a chocolate cake give you a zing of excitement? Baking is really fun and doesn’t take a lot of time but yields yummy dividends that will make the folks quarantined with you sooo happy. Plus your whole home will smell incredible!

  8. Enjoy a Cup of Tea or Coffee
So often we’re grabbing and going because we have to be somewhere; but now you can take some time to truly enjoy the simple pleasures of a beautifully brewed cup of tea or coffee. (In your favorite mug or tea cup.)

  9. Exercise
Even though we’re all inside for the time being, moving your body is still really important and a great way to move stress out. There’s tons of workout videos on Youtube for every kind of workout you can imagine. Lace up your shoes, grab a water, and start working out in your living room.

  10. Meditate
Beginning or returning to your meditation practice is a powerful way to support yourself, physical, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. You can listen to guided mediations if you’re new to meditation, you can use the calm app or something similar, you can practice conscious breathing, or any meditation practice that feels like a fit for you. Even 3-5 minutes makes a positive impact on your overall wellbeing.

  11. Play Music
Do you play an instrument? Pick it up and play it again and if you’ve been meaning to practice more or learn something new on your instrument, this is a great time to do that.

  12. Listen to Music
Music helps to elevate mood, increase energy, and can even increase happiness. So, turn up the music and have an impromptu dance party, sing a long, or a walk down memory lane while you enjoy listening to your favorite music.

  13. Self Care
Practicing self care is really important right now. Anything that feels like it would offer you care, counts for self care. Take a nice hot bath, do an at home facial, mani +pedi, diy hair mask, diffuse your favorite oils, smudge yourself and your home, use your favorite or special linens, jammies, slippers, etc. Invest in taking care of yourself in ways that nurture you.

  14. Journal
Whether you write with a pen and notebook or type in your digital journal, writing helps to move things through us and onto the page which helps us to gain clarity, calm, and comfort.

  15. Write
Have you been meaning to write someone a real letter on paper? Now is a great time plus everyone loves receiving a real note or card in the actual mailbox. Have you been chipping away at your book, article, screenplay, oracle deck, original song, etc? Make time to sit down and write, even for 15 minutes. You’ll be amazed how much you will get done.

  16. Clean
Not everyone’s favorite activity but something that must get done and you can add music and sturdy shoes and get a workout in while you clean and enjoy your favorite cleaning playlist. Oh come on, you know you have a cleaning playlist too.

  17. Relax
This is one that may seem obvious, but honestly most people don’t know how to relax anymore. Due to our overtaxed schedules, most people are used to being in fight, flight, freeze, and fawn and have to work to remember how to truly relax. So, breathe… release tension in your tummy, chest, and face and give yourself permission to relax without combining it with a chore. Yes, relaxing is an important thing to do. We aren’t machines are shouldn’t be going all the time.

  18. Sleep
Take naps if you need to or want to. Yes, if you need to or want to. You may find that your body needs extra rest right now so even if you nap for 20 minutes here and there (or longer) give yourself permission to do it. Sleep is when our body can physically repair and heal. We need to sleep to keep our immune system strong.

  19. Redecorate
Have you planned a home project, got all the stuff but just haven’t had the time? This is your time. Paint that wall, install those shelves, hang those curtains, move that furniture around to create more seating areas, install those wood floors and get that carpet up and out already.

  20. Movie Marathon/Show Marathon
Get into your favorite jammies, grab your snacks, blankets, pillows, and settle in for the long haul. Watch all your favorites, and maybe finally watch the series your friends have been telling you you’re going to love. Enjoy the marathon and make it a little party, set up your space, have all your goodies in arms reach, and press play.
    Some Marathons to Consider:
    Star Wars
    Harry Potter
    Indiana Jones
Roger and Hammerstein Collection (Musical lovers, I see you!)
    The Matrix
    Lord of the Rings
    Toy Story
    The Godfather
    Super Hero Movies
    Back to the Future
    Friends
    The Office
    Twilight Zone
Dark Shadows (Currently all Seasons on Amazon Prime)
    Gilmore Girls
    Cheer
    HBO Series Favorites

Top 5 Things to Do When You 1st Start Working From Home

Okay, that’s it for today. I know it’s a lot but I wanted to share these things wit you in the hopes that it will offer you some support. Please let me know how you’re doing and how I can help you at this time.

Please know that I’m sending you love, gentility, and supportive energy. I’m here for you and you’re not alone. If you want to work with me right now, I’m still available for phone, skype, and distance sessions. (There’s a special price point too.)

7 Ways to Boost Your Wellness

Green+Drink+%282019_01_30+23_54_58+UTC%29.jpg

While we find ourselves in the middle of cold and flu season + inundated with news stories about COVID-19, you may find health and wellness on your mind right now.

I’ve included some powerful + easy ways to boost your wellness this season for you below.

  1. Wash Your Hands:
This one may seem silly to include but it’s a powerful way to keep you well this season.

  2. Sanitize Your Most Used Items:
Wipe down your phone, computer, tablet, remotes, ear buds, glasses, steering wheel, key chains, door knobs, counters, faucets, and light switches.

  3. Air Quality:
Change the Air Filter In Your Home and if possible, in your Office

  4. Increase Vitamin C:
Add lemon, lime, or grapefruit to your water to give your body a boost of vitamin C. You can also take a high quality vitamin C supplement.

  5. Water:
Drink lots of water to keep your body hydrated and to support your body in moving toxins out.

  6. Eat Nutrient Dense Foods:
Increase green leafy foods, whether you feel guided to eat them or drink them in a green drink.

  7. Sleep:
We need sleep so that our bodies can restore, replenish, and repair. Take some time to create a gentle space that’s conducive to good solid sleep. If you’re having a hard time getting solid sleep, you may need to take small naps during the day too.

Bonus Tips:

  • Use a Neti Pot or other nasal rinse system to keep your sinuses hydrated and clear of debris or infection. You can find these at any natural food store or online shops.

  • Use a humidifier to help keep the air in your home hydrated so your skin can absorb the moisture to support your hydration. (This is especially important if you’re running your heating and/ or fire place as these heating sources dry out the air.)

  • Stretch your body and do gentle exercise, including walking to help release any toxins that could be holding space within your body.

  • Weather Permitting, air out your home, even for 10 or 15 minutes to bring clean air inside.

  • Avoid places and spaces with large crowds or places with people who are sick; including public transportation.

I’m wishing you a wonderful week and hope this list will support you in boosting your wellness this season. With love,
Kristy~ xoxo

2020 Coming Out of the Gate Swinging: How to Make the Most of this Energy

heart+2020+glasses.jpg

Wow, what a beginning to 2020, has it felt like a big shift for you, too?
I ended the decade and started this one with forced rest…in the form of being sick. Yeah, not fun but definitely one of those things that you can’t do much about except to try your best to take it one day at a time.

Now that I’ve turned a corner on the things that kept me in bed (thankfully) I can see that there is a powerful message and lesson in remembering to take things one day at a time. It’s something we all know, and hear it frequently, however there is something important about actually letting it resonate and making shifts and changes where they’re needed.

While most people will be talking about this month being the month of love and all things candy hearts, cookies, and all the things; I think this is the perfect time to take stock of what’s working great and what areas can be tweaked, adjusted, and more streamlined. This is a powerful and important way to demonstrate love for ourselves and for the people in our lives.

2020 has come out of the gate without pulling any punches. There is this big pull to get things into alignment and it feels like things that are finished are being pushed out, pretty rapidly. You may be feeling this in your own life too. One of the ways that we can make the most of this energy shift and these rapid changes is to consciously get on the same page with what we want to get out of this year and How we’re going to make that happen to the best of our ability.

I attended a university who’s motto is, Today Decides Tomorrow; very true, right? We can clearly see how the actions, planning, and dedication we make today will lead to the outcomes, opportunities, and the future we’re moving toward.

The issue that shows up for most people is how to create momentum and focus on what they’re moving toward while also allowing themselves to take things one day at a time. It can feel like a bit of a conundrum, however, the key in the lock here shows up as a Consistent Plan and Daily Healthy Habits.

A plan, with daily action steps helps to reduce the feelings of overwhelm, and also creates steady consistent forward motion.

I find that highly sensitive people, like yourself can often vacillate between going all in and pushing themselves too hard for too long until they burn out or feeling too timid to try which can lead to analysis paralysis.

Both of these situations can lead to overwhelm, frustration, challenges, and a loss of momentum and forward motion.

So the key in the lock is focusing on the middle ground and being honest about your schedule, your distractions, and keeping your commitment to yourself, daily.

If this is not your natural skill set, please reach out for professional help so you can really make some traction this year instead of feeling like this year is getting away from you or pulling you around and you’re just trying to keep up.

When I tune into the energy of 2020, it feels intense, strong, and very structural. It literally feels like it’s squaring things up. When you think of a square you can feel that strong energy with hard lines and how it holds its space.

You can ask yourself:

  • What areas of my life feel like they’re being squared up this so far this year?

  • What areas of my life still need to be squared up?

  • How can I contribute to this process in a positive way?

  • What changes or shifts do I need to make to create forward motion?

Now that we’re officially into the second month of the new year and a fresh decade and the holiday hangover is behind us; please give yourself some time to make a strategic plan that will support you in the ways that are right for you.

  • Be honest about what is leaving your life.

  • Be honest about what is coming into your life.

  • Be clear about how you’re going to make these things a reality for yourself.

  • Begin today, remember even seemingly small shifts lead to big change over time and Today Decides Tomorrow.

Self Care and Self Love are really important aspects to a happy, healthy, and well adjusted life and taking time this month to focus on these important areas of your life is a powerful demonstration of self care and self love.

I’m wishing you a productive, happy, and healthy 2020. I'd love to support you in making 2020 a year that reflects your dreams, desires, and dedication!

You know I love February, it’s my favorite month of the year; don’t forget to enjoy all the candy hearts, cookies, goodies and all the things while you’re busy planning your year. It will make it that much more fun!

With Love,
Kristy~xoxo

Moving Into Public and Professional Platforms as an Introverted or Highly Sensitive Person

This roundtable with focus on how Highly Sensitive and or Introverted people who are being guided into the public platform arena can maximize their natural gifts and talents to achieve their goals and dreams. Many people who feel aligned with creative, helping, and wellness platforms are naturally shy or introverted. This can create or contribute to fears about moving forward with their dreams. However, these natural gifts can be embraced, leveraged, and supported while participating in public and professional platforms. We will focus on some of the main areas that show up for Highly Sensitive People and ways to move through these fears or perceived blocks. This roundtable will also include experiential activities including guided visualizations, journaling, and a question and answer session to help each person identify what areas are showing up as challenges and ways that they can begin to create traction and forward motion in the areas in which they’re being called to contribute.

Season of Light

christmas stars (2019_01_30 23_54_58 UTC).jpg

We made it to December and to the last few weeks of the year and of this decade. Can you believe this is the end of a decade?

Have you seen some of the 2009 vs 2019 challenges floating around online? So much can happen in 10 years; even if the day to day feels the same, we can look back and see how much we’ve accomplished and how much has changed.
I think the same can be said for each year that we experience.

As we get ready to wrap up another year, this is a powerful time to take a look back and check in with all of the things that have changed for you this year….and all the things that are different for you today than from December 2009.

  • What break throughs did you experience?

  • What seemingly small shifts led to personal joys and wins?

  • What are you doing now that makes you feel more supported or more like your true self?

At this time of year, it’s really easy to get pulled in lots of different directions with holiday parties, family, friends, and all the things. It can be one of the busiest times of the year and it’s really important to carve out some time to do some reflection and self accounting too. You can do this in the quiet early morning hours before your day gets going, at the end of the day, or any time that you have available.

This is an exercise that I really like because it doesn't take a lot of time, but it provides a lot of meaningful insight. You may want to grab a notebook and something to write with and turn off any devices so you can get quiet. (It’s impossible to get nothing, so don’t worry, just breathe and pay attention to anything you see, hear, feel, think, or remember and write it down.)

Take a few deep breaths and then ask yourself:
What have I done this year that I feel proud of accomplishing?

Then, ask yourself:
What brought me the most joy this year?

Then, ask yourself:
What am I still working on that I'm going to continue working on in 2020?

Then, ask yourself:
Who, or what am I closing the door on this year and making a clean break from as I wrap up 2019 and go into 2020.

Beautiful. These kinds of exercises can really help to put things into perspective for us while also highlighting the wins and take-aways for the year which can sometimes get lost in the hustle and bustle of the season.

Carving out a little bit of time for you this holiday season will help you to feel more connected to and part of the season. Give yourself permission to say yes to the activities that really resonate for you and thank you anyway to the things that aren’t a fit for you.

It’s okay to honor the traditions that are part of your life even if they are different from someone else’s. Lean into the activities that truly bring you joy even if it includes wearing jammies, eating popcorn, and watching Home Alone. (Just me?)

Make your season one to remember by slowing down where you can and being present for the parts of the season which are special and meaningful for you.

This time of year is often referred to as the season of light and I’m holding space for you that during this season you can fully enjoy it in ways the genuinely light you up and fill your heart with joy.

With so much love and blessings I’m wishing you a beautiful holiday season and a happy new year!
Thank you so much for sharing your year with me,
Love, Kristy~xoxo

Going Withing + Balancing Deep Emotions

November 3 (2019_01_30 23_54_58 UTC).jpg

Happy November!
Is it just me or does this year seem to have gone by more quickly than most?

This month brings us to:

  • The beginning of the holiday season

  • Heading toward the end of 2019 and the End of a Decade (what?!)

  • Moving into longer nights, darker days, and the deep pull to stay indoors and to dive deep within our inner worlds.

That’s a whole lot of stuff happening this month.

November has a beautiful quality woven into it where we can find the rhythm of moving through all of these shifts and markers by leaning into the organic change that happens little by little each day during this month.

You may notice that you look forward to this time each year because there is a deep slow down that happens. We can see that slow down visually all around us as we watch the leaves changing color and dropping away and feel the cold wind and weather make itself known to us.

The days get a little bit shorter and the nights get a little bit longer and we start spending more time indoors and at home. Maybe you look forward to wearing cozy flannel pajamas (raising own hand), drinking hot apple cider, and sitting in front of a cozy fire.

This time where there is less daylight naturally supports us in turning inward and taking an opportunity to check in with our feelings, our emotions, and our own personal needs. When we have this opportunity for a slow down, we start to feel how much we actually need it and realize how much we’re doing every single day.

So much of our day is spent in doing + giving whether for our jobs, loved ones, and all the tasks that have to get done each day. We create these little nooks and crannies to support the self care that we need here and there where we can. That is a great way to create self care and self support as we manage all the things; however, at this time of year, we get a little boost of support from mother nature herself.

It’s like we get a little reminder that we actually need:

  • More Sleep

  • More Time at Home

  • More Soothing and Rustic Kinds of Foods

  • More Time with People + Pets we Love

  • More Time to Feel our Feelings

  • More Time to Invest in Activities that Feed our Souls

So many people tell me that at this time of year they feel inspired to pick up old hobbies that have been shelved, to create and or write again, to play music, to read just for fun, and to get back in touch with the things that they love and that make them feel like them again.

You know that old adage about how when the noise is turned off you can actually hear your own thoughts?
It’s really true!

In this sense, the noise being turned off is happening by us being guided inside earlier into the quiet spaces around us and within us. No, this doesn’t mean that you have to sit in your home in silence. (you can but it’s not necessary) You can actually hear the quiet during this month, and I bet that if you tune into this experience, you’ll simultaneously be able to hear the guidance from your inner self about what you need to do for you at this time too.

This is a deep time of healing and revealing.

As you lean into the natural rhythm of November, you’ll notice that you find things and situations which are falling away from you too. You’ll notice that you unearth feelings and old stuff that wants to fall away and that wants to come full circle for you.

This is all part of reaping our own abundance.

Enjoy this time of going inward, of embracing the fruits of your labor this year, and of leaning into this season of self care, self nourishment, and the quiet joys that are wrapped up in this gift we call, November.

I’ll be spending my quiet time this month doing some of my favorite things, canning, baking, cooking, and knitting…and wearing cozy flannel pajamas of course.

Wishing you a wonderful month and I look forward to working with you in person or over the phone.
With love,
Kristy~xoxo

October's Here: New Month, New Season, New Energy

Pumpkin black cat (2019_01_30 23_54_58 UTC).png

Happy October!

Does this 1st day of October make you want to break out the apple cider recipe + the classic Halloween movies as much as it does for me? As soon as this day rolls around it’s like a little internal alarm sounds for me and I’m like yep it’s time for all the things. They show up at my house as cider, homemade pumpkin bread for me and all my neighbors, knitting projects, cozy socks, It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, and of course Hocus Pocus.

This month brings with it darker and shorter days, changing colors in the leaves and a deep pull to bring our awareness and feelings inside. We’re even encouraged to spend more time indoors as the weather becomes cooler and the daylight dwindles with each passing day.

There’s a big theme about Home and Hearth throughout October.

  • Maybe this theme shows up for you as cozy evenings in front of your fireplace with a hot bowl of soup.

  • Maybe you feel guided to start working your way through your reading pile you haven’t gotten around to until now.

  • Maybe you like to take a morning walk to watch the leaves change each day.

  • Maybe it’s decorating your home and being the person who passes out the full sized candy bars.

  • Maybe it looks like a tradition that started in your family or while you were in college that you’ve kept going all these years.

Whatever that pull is for you, give yourself permission to enjoy and nurture this Hearth and Home theme that’s showing up for you. Not only does it help to usher in this new season, but it’s also creating nurturing + comfort for you and for everyone else who comes into your home.

You may have heard that this time of year is deeply connected to the spirit world.
It’s true, this time of year is a time when we can more easily feel, see, hear, and know the messages that our departed family members, guides, and angels are sharing with us. As we get quiet and bring our awareness inside, we can more easily receive our messages. It’s no surprise to me that a season all about coming inward and enjoying the comforts of home would also be a time where we experience more connection to our spiritual messages and messengers.

If this is something you enjoy, make a little note to be more aware of these connections that you experience this month.

  • Maybe you’ll want to write down the messages or synchronicities that you experience throughout the day.

  • Maybe you’ll want to keep a dream journal this month to help you keep track of any important messages or dream visits that show up for you.

  • Maybe you’ll create a way to mark these moments that’s completely personal for you.

In Chinese medicine, this time of year focuses on healing grief, the lungs, and the large intestine. This circles back to this theme of coming inward and practicing self care which often brings up opportunities to heal. Again, it’s no surprise to me that a month known for a deeper connection to our spiritual lives is also connected to healing and grief. This is a powerful month for deep healing, connection, and comfort.

The great thing is that you don’t have to push or try to force this to happen as it’s built into the fabric of October. This month kicks off a season of slowing down, turning inward, and investing in comfort, quiet, and things that feel soothing and supportive for you on deep interpersonal levels.

The only thing you have to do to be in the rhythm of this month is to ask yourself what you feel guided to do.
Then, take action on whatever that is for you.
Yay, easy, right?

Ask yourself this question every day, and pay attention to the answer that you receive. Your answer can show up as a feeling, thought, memory, or a knowingness of what is right for you. The more you can invest in what shows up for you the more that you’ll find yourself organically moving into and with this theme of
Hearth + Home + Healing.

This can be:

  • Enjoying a hot cup of tea

  • Getting out your favorite throw pillows and blankets

  • Eating your favorite meal

  • Listening to a favorite song

  • Looking through old photo albums

It’s whatever shows up for you.

If one of the things that you’re wanting to experience this month is more connection with your departed loved ones, guides, and angels; all you have to do is ask for them to give you messages. There’s no one way or right way to do this, it’s whatever feels right for you on any particular day.

Here’s what I ask for when I feel like I could use a little more support; feel free to use it or adjust as you see fit.

Please give me clear signs in my physical world which I’ll easily notice and understand as I move though my day, today. Please make my messages so clear that they’re basically like flashing neon signs that say hey, Kristy this is a sign for you.

See, there’s no right way to ask for your signs, it’s just what’s right for you, and I like really clear obvious signs. Once you start receiving your signs + messages, just say thank you and if you’d like more of them you can ask for more of them. (Easy Peasy)

My wish for you this month is that you enjoy this time of turning inward and slowing down. This is a natural time for self care, comfort, and healing.

Make a commitment to yourself to make this time yours by honoring the things that feel quintessentially October for you, whatever they may be.

Kristy~ xoxo

Making the Most of September

WelcomeSeptember1-1.jpg

Can you believe it’s already September? I don’t know about you, but I’m wondering where August went because it seemed to fly by. Here we are at the beginning of the Ber months which means we’re getting ready for a whole new season and a big energetic shift. You many be feeling this new energy already; it’s been moving in little by little for a couple of weeks now. I think that the back to school energy helps to get us ready for the shift, but this month there’s an opportunity for big positive change.

The summer was full of so many retrogrades and so much one step forward two or three steps back kind of energy that it may have felt challenging to get things done. Plus, summer tends to have a less structured feeling to it anyway, even if you’re not out of school for the summer; it’s often filled with travel and a slower pace.  Both of these things made for a bit of an unstructured experience and you can probably feel a pull to get back to basics and to getting things moving again.

You may have noticed that things that weren’t moving forward are coming back online for you.

  • Maybe you’ve pulled a project back out that you started earlier in the year and find that you have the energy to dive back into it.

  • Maybe you’ve had people or situations show up for you that you were trying to get into place earlier in the year that just seemed to have issues or challenges start to come together for you.

  • Maybe you’re feeling a pull to get things organized or lined up for the new season and feel energized as you make lists and get things going for your home, work, or creative life.

If you’re noticing any of these things, you’re feeling and tapping into the new energy that’s moving in for us this month. The great thing is that this energy is motivating, energizing, and it’s helping us to move forward. I keep seeing it as being on a trampoline that’s providing a big bounce so we can move forward in a big way while also having fun.

I’ve included a few ways to help you get on board with this new energy this month so you can make the most out of your September. Of course there’s no one way or right way to do this, it’s just the way or ways that feel right for you.

The following things showed up really clearly as I was asking how best to work with this energy and I wanted to share them with you. I hope they will help to inspire you to try some of these things or create a support system that’s all your own.

Reset, Reframe, Restage

This is a big clear out method that will have your home and or work space feeling brand new and full of possibilities and opportunities.
Do a clearing of the clutter project.
This doesn’t have to be a major overhaul, it could be on your pantry, closet, or anywhere in your home. If you want to do your whole space, great go for it.

  • Make some piles to donate old clothes, books, magazines, or anything else that you’re finished with.

Lightening the load in your home lightens the energy and overall feeling inside it and this feeling impacts all the people living in or visiting the space.

  • Dust off shelves, move things around, reframe and restage your home or work space.

Simple shifts make a significant impact on the way your spaces feel for you. When things feel light and airy, you’ll feel calm and will find that it’s easier to focus. Highly sensitive people (like yourself) are very impacted by the spaces around them.

  • Clutter, dust, and trapped energy can actually contribute to or exacerbate nervousness, anxiousness, and feelings of being ungrounded or off. You may want to sage your home to move out any trapped energy that could be hanging out inside or around your home.

Mark it Down, Make it Happen
You know that old saying, “If you write it down you’re more likely to do it.”
Well I won’t bore you with the data about this but we do know that writing things down, with a pen or pencil on a piece of paper helps us to get things done. I know, I know you have all that fancy software and all those apps.

  • Technology is great, but if you’re trying to make some movement on something that’s been on your list for a good part of this year, maybe sit down and write out a physical list.

  • Place your list somewhere you’ll see it every day and write down the steps you need to take to move forward with your list. Watch how you’re able to gain traction and momentum on the items that are on your physical list. Notice how great it feels to cross things off your list as you make things happen.

Nest to Support Rest
Creating a comforting place to live and or work is really important especially for sensitive souls. As we move deeper into the month and continue to have shorter days and longer nights you may notice that you feel guided to spend more time at home or indoors. This is a great time to pull out throw blankets, pillows, and other favorite autumn things that you tucked away during the summer months.

  • Adding layers of soft fabrics, colors, gentle lighting, and other favorite things will help you to feel calm, supported, and at ease. When the body feels at ease, it’s easier to decompress, destress, and come back into balance. Creating a gentle space also supports better sleep.

As you move into this month, find some ways to work with this new energy that’s helping us to get back to basics and get things moving in the right direction. Have fun with this shift and enjoy the last days of summer as we get ready to welcome the autumn season and all it brings with it. There’s still time to get to the things that you want to accomplish this year and this month is giving us a great way to kick off the season of getting things done.

I’m wishing you a wonderful month and I’m looking forward to working with you during an intuitive session, coaching, or an energy treatment!
With love,
Kristy~xoxo

Sun + Fun + Success...Yes, Please!

8-august-green-happy-Favim.com-3186304.jpg

I just got home from the big island of Hawaii, one of my all time favorite places. No matter how many times I go, I always feel inspired, relaxed, and renewed. One of the things that really stands out to me is how much being outside for most of the day is what I love most. As an adult there aren’t many times that you get to play outside all day for several days in a row….being there really made me feel like I was on summer vacation.

A big takeaway that I’ve brought home with me is that being outside is something that we need for our overall health and wellness. Not a big surprise since we’re so deeply connected to nature, however; it really struck me how spending so much time indoors working under artificial lighting can really have a heavy and weighing impact on us…especially as grown ups. While most of us, me included can’t spend days and days on end playing outside, I can make an effort to go on a bike ride after work or a walk around my neighborhood while the sun is setting.

Time outside is something that I’ve always loved and try to make time for it as much as I can. However, it can be a challenge sometimes when the schedule is overflowing and it feels like you’re working during all the daylight hours for weeks on end. So, as we begin to prepare for the shift this month where many people will be headed back to school, either as professional educators, administrators, or as parent of a little heading back to school we can make this outside time a part of our daily routine.

You may know how much I love, truly love back to school everything. For real, it’s one of my favorite times of year. Now, I’m no longer a student and no longer a professional academic; however, my glee for back to school has not dimmed in any way from my school days.

So, here’s what I’m thinking. While you’re walking the isles of your favorite big box shop or browsing your favorite online vendors, order a new planner, some journals, post it notes, pens, and whatever else you feel is really pulling at your heart strings. Then, write in, yes write in with a physical pen or pencil time in your schedule for outside “playtime” this month. We know it takes 21 days to foster a new healthy habit, and if you schedule it into your life this month as we enjoy the last full month of summer, it will be easier to keep it going once we’re officially into the new season and back to school.

Even though I no longer work on campus, I still work closely with clients on how to make the most of the home stretch at the end of the year. We work on balance, creating clear goals, and the daily action steps needed to really hit the ground running and make the most of the last leg of the year. This is a powerful way to set yourself up for success while also supporting your overall health and wellness.

Joy, fun, playtime, laughter, and inspiration are all part of your overall health and wellness. Investing in these areas of your life will support your forward motion and increase your energy and inspiration when you go into work too.

Let’s make the most of August and the last full month of the summer season while simultaneously setting ourselves up for success when we shift into go mode in only a few short weeks.

Grab those stickers or sparkly pens and go big on scheduling playtime this month.

  • If you would like some support in planning out your end of the year goals and action steps, I’m here to help you.

  • If you’d like to look at some themes, issues, or areas of your life you’re being guided to focus on or heal, I’m here to help you.

  • If you’d like some self care and know energy treatments are on deck for you, I’m here to help you.

In addition to playing outside and getting my schedule ready for the shift coming up I’ll also be canning and pickling galore in nearly every free minute that I’m not working or stalking the back to school supply area of my local target store.

I’m wishing you a wonderful month and look forward to seeing you for some coaching, readings, or energy treatments!
With love,
Kristy~ xoxo
