Reframe, Restructure, Reprioritize

July (2019_01_30 23_54_58 UTC).jpg

Can you believe it’s already, July?
I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely still trying to take that in because I’m not sure where June went…it seemed to fly by. We’re already into the second part of the year and officially into the summer season here in the northern hemisphere. Long slow sunny days and summer evenings are on deck for a while which is something that I look forward to every year. I’m here for all the flip flops, bike riding, and porch sitting.

Summer is a season that seems to have “slow down” woven into its fiber; allowing us to stop and take a breather so we can adjust to pace of the season.
With this new slow down upon us, this is a great time to do some reprioritizing. If June slipped by for you in the same way that it did for me, maybe you can take a little time to check in on the things that you want to focus on as we keep moving deeper into this year.

It can be easy to get a bit sidetracked during this time because travel may be in your schedule or some other big changes. While I’m all in for travel, taking a little time to reframe what you want to lean into for the rest of the year is an investment worth making. You don’t have to take a lot of time doing this, in fact you can do it while you’re sitting on your porch swing or lounging by the pool. It doesn’t matter where you take some time to restructure your goals or dreams as long as you do it.

A big theme that has been showing up a lot lately has been about leaning into joy. Joy is a very powerful emotion and an important part of our lives. One of the things that really stands out to me is that if we don’t make time for the things, people, or experiences that bring us true joy we can get slogged down with all the things that need to get done. As an adult in the modern world, you know that there will always be “one more thing” that needs to get done. No matter how organized you are, there will always be something else that can pull your attention away from you getting to the things that really fill you up and bring you genuine joy. Your joy quotient is important and only you know what things, even the little things, and often especially the little things that help to increase your joy quotient and areas of your life that need to be nurtured regularly.

As adults it can take a little extra effort to make sure that you’re receiving the level of nurturing, support, and care that you need. You’re probably very aware of the things that your loved ones need and reach out to help them in the ways you can as often as you can. However, you need that same level of care too.

What I know for sure is that Highly Sensitive People, like yourself tend to be the ones doing the helping, supporting, and caring for the people in your world. It probably feels more natural or organic for you to be the one leaning into helping rather than asking for help. However, this means that you need to plan time to care for yourself and invest in your joy quotient even more than you realize. If you don’t plan it, it won’t happen. So, you have to reprioritize them as a priority to you not just once in a blue moon but as a regular part of your day to day life.

Summertime…well, this is a fantastic time to practice this slow down and reframing for yourself and for the remainder of your year. Be honest about what you want to make of the rest of your year, including the down time and your joy quotient. Let someone in your inner circle know if you could use some help or support. Choose to make this month a time of Reframing, Restructuring, and Reprioritizing the way you want to experience your year…and your life. Your life is happening right now and you are worthy of enjoying it while you continue to move toward the goals and dreams of your heart.

Do you feel like you could use some extra support from me in pin pointing something that’s happening in your life right now? Maybe you know you need to increase some self care and want to schedule some treatments; either way I’m here to offer you some support and guidance this month; and I’m looking forward to working with you.

I’m going to be traveling a bit this summer so my schedule is a little bit tighter than usual, but there’s still lots of space for you to get in for your sessions. Xoxo

With so much love and support,
Kristy~

P.S.  A very happy 4th of July to you and yours if you’re celebrating!

Sunshine.jpg

For days when you want to keep your energy bright, light, and strong. We’ve all had those days when you feel a little sluggish or you havde to go into a challenging environment. Highly sensitive people, like yourself can sometimes absorb other people’s emotions, energy, and moods which can be toughto say the least. This roller recipe can help to support you energy in being light and bright and works like a little sunshine shield. Give it a try and see how it supports you on the days when you can use a little extra sunshine.

Your Favorite Carrier Oil
10 Drops Citus Fresh
5 Drops Peppermint

5 Drops Frankincense

You’ll Need:

Small Spray Bottle
Apple Cider Vinegar (with the mother)
Witch Hazel
4 Drops Frankincense
4 drops Cedarwood

DIY Lash Serum

Lash.jpg

My favorite DIY Lash Serum Ever!

This is a really easy recipe that you’ll be able to whip up super quick.

All You Need Is:

Castor Oil
Lavender Essential Oil
Mascara Wand
Small Jar or you can order mascara blanks with wands online if you’d prefer it to a jar.

Fill your jar or mascara blank with castor oil and add 3-5 drops lavender essential oil. Mix and store in a room temperature drawer or cupboard.

Apply a light layer to the top of your lashes before you go to sleep. You’ll apply the serum to the opposite way you apply mascara; on top rather than underneath. You can also apply this to your brows and to your baby hairs for all of you post-partum mamas out there. *Avoid getting this into your eyes as it stings…ask me how I know this. This is why you apply it to the top of your lashes.

This serum is awesome and it really works. No need for extensions or toxic serums when you can make this non toxic version at home. Enjoy!:)

Reassess + Restructure + Recommit

June popsicle.jpg

Happy June! This is one of my favorite times of year because the weather is getting nicer + we get a little reset on the year. If you’re anything like me you love a good reset and an opportunity to fine tune some things. The 6 month mark gives us an opportunity to get really clear on where we’ve been so far and where we want to go with the remainder of 2019.

If you’re feeling a little bit sidelined by the fact that we’re halfway through the year, you’re not alone. This year feels like it’s been full of stops and starts and maybe you’ve experienced some big shifts along the way. No matter how your year has been going for you so far, you get an opportunity to take a little inventory and restructure some things that you want to highlight going forward.

There’s no one way or right way to do this, there’s just the ways that are right for you. However, it’s important to do something so that you can get clear on what you want to experience and what things you want to make priorities in the second half of your year.

Did you make a Vision Board back in January and then put it into the Closet?

Maybe it’s time to pull it out, take a look at it and see if what’s there is still resonating for you. Maybe you’ve accomplished some of your goals for this year (yay!) and you want to remove the images that you’ve checked off your list. Maybe you want to add new things that are more in alignment with where you’d like to go next. Either way, if a vision board is a tool that you enjoy using, make sure you find it a new home; one where you can actually see it every day. No more relegating it to a closet or behind a pile of random stuff.

Are you a List Maker?

I love a good list. Okay list makers, get out that list of things that you wanted to get done this year. Maybe you have several lists for different areas of your life. Get them all out and take a look at what’s been done and what’s still waiting to get moved up. Don’t go into melt down mode if you feel there’s still a lot on your list/s that haven’t been checked off. Take a breath and reprioritize your list. Move things around, remove things if this isn’t the best time to be focused on a particular area. If you want to you can make another list of things that are being put into a secondary priority allowing you to get to them once your most important things for the rest of 2019 are attended to first.

Are you a Quarterly Planning and Pie Charts Person?

Do you love flow charts, color, and lots of at a glace inspiration and planning? Or maybe you love all the software, apps, and bells and whistles to support you in moving forward with your goals or dreams. Get out all the things and check to see if the places and spaces you’re honestly investing your time is lining up with the colors and blocks that you intended to invest in this year. It’s okay if things have gone a bit askew. No problem at all, you can Reassess + Restructure + Recommit to your plan and vision for the next 6 months.

We’re constantly changing + dealing with the day to day stuff. However, having a clear vision for what we truly want to achieve this year is very important. The months will continue to move by but with a clear vision you can make a steady and consistent pathway toward the goals you have for yourself. It’s not too late, you haven’t missed the boat, and Yes, it’s still worth investing in your goals starting right now, today. If you need help, ask for help; don’t let this time slip away from you.

Breathe if you’re feeling overwhelmed. Make a commitment to yourself and the momentum you want to nurture for the rest of the year. You have 6 months to move toward the things that are resonating for you for 2019. Yes, definitely doable. Use this time as an opportunity to Relaunch your excitement, enthusiasm, and energy toward the goals you have for yourself and your _____________.

Focus on 3 things that you can do this week to move forward.
Start today and use this 6 month mark to Reorganize, Reprioritize, and Reenergize yourself and your year.

I’m doing the same thing over here in my little corner of the world and I’m cheering you on as you Rededicate yourself to your year!

Do you feel like you could use some extra support in moving toward your goals? I look forward to working with you and supporting you all along the way! I know you can do this!

With love,
Kristy~ xoxo

3 Ways to Move Through the Full Moon Cycle

full-moon-beyond-the-pines-728-x-400.jpg

We’re coming up on a big full moon this, Saturday but I bet you’re already feeling some signs + symptoms of this moon cycle. I know I’m really feeling it, especially in my body which has been feeling really heavy, slow moving, and a bit lethargic today.

I wanted to share 3 of my favorite ways to move through a full moon cycle with you in case it can offer you some additional support.

Sometimes people think that full moon symptoms occur only on the day of the full moon, but that’s not entirely true. The impact can be felt by highly sensitive people, like yourself several days prior to the full moon, the day of, and several days afterward. If you’ve been feeling a bit off, it may be because you’re already riding these full moon waves that are rolling into town for all of us.

 Common Full Moon Symptoms:

  • I find that Empath’s, HSP’s, and Intuitives experience these symptoms more than those who don’t identify as sensitive.

  1. Slight Fever

  2. Headache

  3. Achy or Highly Sensitive Skin

  4. Increased Sensitivity to Light, Sound, and Crowds

  5. Pressure in the Head and or Body

  6. Feeling Lethargic or in Slow Motion

  7. Feeling Foggy or Find it Hard to Focus

  8. Bloating

  9. Nausea

  10. Clumsiness

  11. Intense Emotions and or Deep Feelings

  12. Need to be Alone or to be Quiet

  13. Need more Sleep than Usual, Including Naps

  14. Exhaustion

  15. Insomnia

  16. Dehydration

  17. Upset or Sensitive Stomach

  18. Food Cravings

1. Increase Your Water:
Drink more water to help your body re-calibrate itself. Even if you’re someone who always drinks the exact right amount of water for your weight and height every day, drink a bit more. The full moon moves the water inside our bodies and increasing water can help to reduce bloating, headaches, dehydration, food cravings, and feeling foggy.

2. Treat Yourself to a Treatment:
You may want to schedule a Massage, Acupuncture, Reiki, Chakra Balancing, or other Self Care treatment to help you during this time of deep sensitivity. Treatments can support your body in moving back into alignment, leaving you feeling more like yourself again.

3. TLC
To me this is the most important aspect of support.
Only you will know what you need during this time, and it’s important to treat yourself with the same level of kindness and gentility that you would give to a small child. Treat yourself with kid gloves, move at your own pace, say no to things, situations, and people who aren’t a match for you at this time, and rest when you feel guided. Listen to your body and know that pushing yourself over your limits will only create more stress, strain, and often lead to the task taking much longer than usual.
There are lots of ways to make this Full Moon time more gentle and supportive, and at the end of the day you’re the very best gauge for what’s right for you. Give yourself permission to listen to what you need and then honor that wisdom.

I’m wishing you a gentle and supportive Full Moon Cycle
Love,
Kristy~

Working through Highs + Lows + Feelings of Being Stuck

peonies (2019_01_30 23_54_58 UTC).jpg

I can’t believe it’s already May; can you? I feel like this year has been such a combination of slow, slow quick, quick. (If you ever took ballroom dance and that made you think of dance class, me too.)

I’ve talked to so many people recently whether it’s clients, friends, family, or colleagues who’ve told me they feel like they’re in some kind of holding pattern and it’s been challenging trying to balance that feeling while also staying motivated. If you resonate with this feeling, you’re not alone. In addition to this feeling of waiting there are lots of people going through big changes, big shifts, and big stuff too.

Maybe you find yourself raising your hand for both groups.
Standing in a waiting room + Moving through all the stuff.

Like you and so many people this seems to be the general consensus for folks. I’ve also found myself raising my hand for both groups as of late. So, when life gets into these cycles of big changes and the waiting that comes along with perfect timing; how do we move with the cycles instead of feeling like a wheel is rolling over us?

The truth is that there is no one way to do this and there is no one right way to do this; there are just the ways that are right for you on any particular day. However; I thought that I would share some of my favorites with you in case you could use some extra support as you move through some big shifts right now too.

Change of Scenery

Sometimes simply getting outside and away from your home or office to take a breather can be a huge help in releasing the tension or stress that you’re carrying around with you. If you can go to a favorite park, the beach, a hiking trail you love, or simply a walk around the neighborhood; you’ll find that you can let down and get back to your center more easily. If you’re able to take a little trip out of town, even someplace not too far away it can help you to physically get some space so you can decompress and focus on something fun, uplifting, and hopefully relaxing.

Change the Energy

Stress has a huge impact on our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Often, we’re not even aware of the impact it’s having on us because we build up a tolerance to it as it’s woven into the fabric of our daily lives. However, when we’re under a lot of stress, we often notice a difference in the way we feel. As stress increases, our energy decreases.

You can increase your energy by listening to or playing music. You’ll feel your energy begin to shift right away, find some music that feels good and uplifting to you and let it move you back to a place that feels more like you. Changing your food by eating lighter and gentler foods and increasing your water can also support your energy management. Things like Smudging your home and office also help to shift your energy and the energy of your spaces. Receiving a Chakra Balancing or Energy treatment will help to move out the heavy energy and help you feel more like yourself again. Saying no to things, people, and situations which don’t feel supportive to you and instead creating a gentle space for yourself will help you find more balance.

Self Soothe

Think about all the self care things that you’ve put on a shelf for whatever reason. This is the time to get them down and start applying daily. Things like, Epsom Salt Baths, your favorite DIY treatments, watching your favorite movie, or taking time to invest in your creative outlet. Maybe you have a stack of books on your bed side table just waiting for you to begin reading. Maybe what you really want is to put on your favorite jammies, get into bed early, and watch old reruns of your favorite Friends episodes. It isn’t so much about what you do, it’s that you’re doing something consistently. If you need to get your stuff out where you can see it so you’ll be more likely to use it, by all means get your stuff out where you can reach it.

Move Your Body

When we move our body, we release and remove stress. This is why so many people get a workout in when they’re feeling overwhelmed because they can leave it on their mat when they’re finished working out. You don’t have to go to the gym or to a yoga studio to do this; any way that you can get some exercise will leave you feeling lighter and more like yourself again. Go for a bike ride, walk around your block, do a YouTube workout in your living room, get up a good sweat while you’re mopping your floors, or washing your own vehicle, or working in your garden. Just find ways to keep moving your body.

Be Prepared

Okay, for all of you that feel like you’re in a waiting room waiting for a new doorway to open, this one is for you. This is such a specific feeling that everyone knows what it feels like to have a combination of anticipation, excitement, anxiety, and frustration all at the same time because you know you’re about to go through a big change but you’re still in the waiting room. Get as prepared as you can to walk directly through that door when your name is called. What does that mean? It means to do things that may not be super fun but are very necessary to set you up for success and a smooth transition when it’s your turn. Things like: Updating your resume and cover letter, updating your media kit, updating your website, looking for new places to live, getting in contact with your mortgage lender or real estate agent, researching programs, classes, or universities that may be a fit for the direction in which you are moving. In whatever area you know that you’re about to experience a change, start to tick off all the things that you’ll need to do to be prepared when your door open to you. If you feel unsure of how to do any of those things, reach out for help from someone who can help you whether that is a friend or a professional. Don’t wait until your time arrives to scramble and try to throw everything together at the last minute. Prepare for a smooth transition.

Ask for Help

Whether you ask for help from people and professionals in your real life or you’re googling all the info and insight that you can find on the inter-webs, reach out for help. If you feel stuck and you ask for help, you’ll notice that you can shift the way you feel plus gain insight that will help you move forward. I call that a win win.

In addition to asking for help from people and the google, I encourage you to ask for help from your angels, guides, and anyone you feel aligned with spiritually. If you are like me and you love to receive physical signs letting you know that you’ve been heard and are being helped, just ask. I like to ask for a physical sign in my real life that I easily notice and understand to let me know that I’ve been heard and that I’m being helped. Feel free to use this one too if it resonates for you. I like big, bright, bold signs so I know right away it’s for me and this works well.

I know this was a long message this time, but I know that you’re going through a lot or you know someone who’s going through a lot. I hope this will offer you some support and comfort as we all collectively move through this time of great change.

I’m sending you lots of love and support,
Kristy~ xoxo

5 Things I'm Loving Now

loving-2.png

I love reading round up’s and favorites from people that I follow; so I thought you might like to see 5 things that I’m loving right now too. These aren’t in any particular order; I’m loving all of them and I hope that they’ll offer you some support too.

Love,
Kristy~ xoxo

blue+light+glasses.jpg

Blue Light Blocking Glasses

These glasses filter the harmful blue light that emanates from the screens we use all day long. Every day around 5:00 pm my eyes were bright red and painful and no matter how many breaks I was taking it wasn’t enough. Since I started wearing these glasses I no longer experience burning and watery eyes.  I’ve also noticed that it’s easier for me to wind down at the end of the day since that blue light stimulates your brain making it hard to rest and relax.

I’m loving them so much I have two pairs; I keep one pair next to my bed and the other pair next to my computer. You can find these at any big box type store or online. They tend to range from $16-$19 and come in a variety of styles for men and women.

energy+book.jpg

Energy Medicine Book

If you’ve ever wanted to understand How and Why Energy Treatments work, this book gives you all of the information you’ve been wondering about and includes Physics, Quantum Physics, Mathematics, Statistical Analysis and More.

This book is incredible; and was recommended to me by my dear friend + Astrologer and Intuitive extraordinaire, Elizabeth Pendleton. If all the science and math makes your heart sing, this book is for you! You can find this book online.  Make sure you Order the 2nd Edition.

face+rollers.jpg

Face Rollers

These little guys come in a variety of stones; including Jade, Rose Quartz, and Amethyst to name a few. They help to reduce inflammation, stress, tension, and pain that you may be holding in your face, neck, and chest.

I’ve been using my roller every evening for several months and I’m still shocked by how much tension I have in my face every evening. I can literally feel the tension and pain move out of my face as I use the roller and can see puffiness and swelling reduce after using it too. You can find these rollers at most big box stores and online and they tend to range from $15-$25.

Smudge+Bundles.jpg

Organic Flower and Herb Smudge Bundles

If you love to smudge your home as much as I do but your flower boxes are still sleeping like mine; check out this lovely gal’s etsy shop. She has organic flower and herb smudge bundles that she hand gathers and ties then ships directly to you so you can enjoy beautiful smudge bundles at home. I’m not affiliated with Mallory, but I’ve ordered from her many times and I really love her shop. She also has crystals and handmade jewelry too.

Lightening Your Load

Peonies White (2019_01_30 23_54_58 UTC).JPG

You’ve probably heard the phrase, “Less is More” many times. I feel like this theme is coming up a lot lately, especially if you’ve read Marie Kondo’s book or have seen her Netflix show where she helps people find things that spark joy while letting everything else go.

As a highly sensitive person, you’ve probably noticed how much you’re impacted by things, people, and situations which feel like they weigh you down. You may notice that your energy feels off, heavy, or even depleted when you’re in situations which feel like they don’t rise up to greet you.

Most of us will have some of these kinds of things in our lives from time to time and we can learn tools to support us through those situations. However, by taking some time to clear up the things we can control, we can definitely lighten our load and experience a more gentle day to day life.

As we move into some warmer weather, here in the northern hemisphere, this is a great time to do some clearing up and cleaning out of the things that are no longer serving you. Spring cleaning, decluttering, and donating will help to make your home feel lighter and brighter; yes absolutely, but you’ll find these things will help you to feel lighter and brighter too.

It’s true, lightening your load in your home will also deeply impact the way you feel mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically.
You may feel a little bit of grumbling when you think about taking on a project in your home.
Maybe you’re thinking:

  • I have a million things to do, I don’t have time to do one more thing.

  • Great, one more thing I have to add to my list.

  • What’s the point, it’s just going to get messy again, why bother or spend the time.

  • I’m so tired, I just don’t feel like dealing with it.

I get it, however what we know for sure, (I won’t bore you with the applied psychology reports) is that when our environment is gentle, uplifting, and clear we:

  • Think more clearly

  • Sleep better

  • Increase your self esteem and self worth

  • Experience increased life satisfaction

  • Have More Energy

  • Have more time to do things we want to do because there are less distractions

  • Many people also report that this becomes a catalyst for other healthy lifestyle shifts like exercise or investing in projects that are meaningful for them.

Guess what?
As a highly sensitive person, you are More Impacted by the spaces, places, and people that you interact with in your daily life. You’re like a sponge picking up everything around you, which over time can be draining and exhausting.

When you lighten your load, you’re able to have more recharge time, more rest, and more support for your highly sensitive soul.

Lightening your load is an Investment in your overall well being and quality of life. It may seem like one more thing to add to your list, but especially as a sensitive person this will give you extra support in many areas of your life.

You don’t have to take on everything at once.; just start somewhere that feels doable. Maybe a hall closet, or the laundry room. Maybe for you all you need to do is go through your home and pick up the stacks of books and magazines that have sprinkled themselves throughout the house when you weren’t looking. Sometimes, just picking up clutter and putting it away can make all the difference in the world to how you and your space feel.

As we move into this new season, this is a powerful time to take an honest look at the other things that could also be weighing you down.

  • Maybe there are some relationships that aren’t positive for you that have come full circle. It’s okay to hold some healthy boundaries around yourself and choose to make time for people who are a better match for you.

  • Maybe you feel like some old stuff is showing up again and you feel guided to do some healing around the past. Reaching out for support can really help you to move through the issues that are showing up for you.

  • Maybe you feel guided to reach out to someone who’s been on your mind but you don’t know how to do that because it’s _________________. Giving yourself permission to honor your inner guidance and reach out can create a huge relief for you and perhaps reignite an old friendship.

  1. What do you feel is weighing you down right now? ____________________

  2. What things, situations, or people seem to be repeating patterns for you? _____________________

  3. What one action step can you take, today to lighten your load in this area of your life? ______________

Make this new month a time where you place yourself as a priority.
I know, making yourself a priority isn’t always easy for you as you tend to be aware of what everyone else in your world needs and you rise to the occasion regularly. However, you’re really important and as you invest in your well being, you’ll feel better and experience more joy and balance in your life.

With love,
Kristy~

New Season New Start

Peonies Rainbow (2019_01_30 23_54_58 UTC).jpg

Can you believe that we’re about to greet Spring this week? I don’t know about you, but I’m so ready to have a little more sunshine and longer days. It’s been a cold and dreary winter in my little corner of the world.

One of the things that really stands out to me at this time of the year is that by the time we get to spring, it feels like we get a little reset and some breathing room. After the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and the big push to get cracking on new projects and plans in the new year it can feel like a lot which can lead to overwhelm. Most people experience a new year let down in some way or another by the time we get to February but when we get to Spring, it’s a whole different energy.

So, no matter where you are in regards to your Intentions for 2019, let this new season be a new start for you. This is a great time to take out your list of goals and your vision board (especially if it’s in the closet) and make some updates.
Give yourself some breathing room by taking something off your list if you’ve finished it or if it doesn’t feel like it resonates for you anymore.

Choose one or two things to dive into and enjoy the process of bringing new life to an area that you’re passionate about. It can be anything at all; if you’re like me and truly enjoy organizing, spring is a great time to get in there are organize your closets and pantry.

  • Maybe you want to spruce up your porch, patio, or front yard. Great!

  • Maybe you want to begin journaling or get back to your exercise routine. Great!

  • Maybe you want to start meal prepping and eating more mindfully. Great!

The biggest thing to focus on here, is starting where you’re standing.
Sometimes Highly Sensitive People can be notoriously hard on themselves if they feel they’ve veered away from their plans in any way. This can make it tough to start again because of negative self talk or old messages that could still be hanging around from parents, partners, teachers, or other authority figures you’ve encountered along the way.

If some of this is showing up for you, that’s okay; take a moment to take a deep breath or two.

The truth is that getting off track happens to all of us, and the important thing is getting back on track; and you can definitely do that. Don’t wait for perfect timing; make this timing perfect for you.

  • So, start where you’re standing.

  • Focus on 1 or 2 things that you feel excited about and find a way to dive in today.

You’ll notice that you gain momentum as you get started which will increase your productivity and joy as you use this new season as a reset for your year.
Spring brings new life and energy to everything, including us. (yay!)
Capitalize on this fresh energy and enjoy this time of renewal and rejuvenation.

One of the ways that I love to mark a new season is with something special.
I’m hosting an In Person Sound Healing this Saturday the 23rd from 11-1 to celebrate Spring. There are only 4 spaces available, so if you want to participate, book your space asap.

We’re going to do some releasing of the things we’re finished with, make room for new goals, opportunities, and blessings, and enjoy crystal bowls.
The Sound Healing will be held at my professional office downtown, which means there are stairs due to the building being “historic” aka no elevator.

For those of you who could use some Energy Treatments or an Intuitive Session this month, I’m looking forward to supporting you; this is a great time to invest in self care and support.
Sending you lots of love,
Kristy~

Love, A Powerful Investment

valenine garland.jpg

Happy Belated New Year and Happy February!
I hope this finds you well as we move into the second month of the year and the teeniest month of the year.
(Also my favorite month of the year) 😊

I wasn’t sure what I wanted to focus on this month as I feel like so much has happened since I last checked in with you. You may have been wondering why I didn’t send a Happy New Year message to you in January like usual. Well, it wasn’t that I wasn’t thinking about you or anything like that. A family member passed during the holidays and as you can imagine it’s taken some time for me to get back to my schedule and regular activities.

So here we are in a brand new month and while I’m still taking things day by day, I am back to work and it feels great to be connecting with you. (On a brand new computer no less. In fact, this is my inaugural writing on the new computer. My tried and true old computer decided to retire on me during that big eclipse.)

I was trying to decide what to write about and a really strong theme kept showing up for me over the last several weeks and it was:

Invest in Love, Starting with You.
It sounds so simple, and it is in a way but it’s also really powerful.

As we’ve been moving through grief individually and as a partnership in our home, this theme has shown up over and over again. What I kept being shown was that as we invest in what love means to us, starting with us then we fill our days and lives with love.

Loving Ourselves can sometimes be a challenging task.

  • Maybe you didn’t grow up in a home where loving yourself was a strong value or perhaps you weren’t shown how to love yourself.

  • Maybe you grew up around folks who taught you that loving and taking care of yourself or holding healthy boundaries was selfish or not something to be practiced.

  • Maybe you weren’t encouraged or supported as you invested in the things, ideas, projects, or passions that really spoke to you.

  • Maybe you were coerced or placed in front of things that your loved ones felt would be a more appropriate choice for you and your life.

No matter what may have kept you from investing in Love, Starting with You in the past doesn’t mean you can’t begin to invest in Love now. The great thing about this, is that you can apply it to every area of your life and as you invest in Love, it Grows and fills You with Love too.

This doesn’t have to be some “out there” non tangible concept, you can apply it to your life right now; today.

Ask yourself the following questions; and answer with the very first thing that comes to your mind. There are no wrong answers here, and the answers you receive will give you great insight into how you can Invest in Love, Starting with Yourself. (No one is going to see your answers, ask you to share, or read them aloud; so please give yourself permission to really go for it as you answer.)

  • What Do I love? ______________________________________________

  • What Areas of My Life Would I like to Experience More Love? ________________________________

  • How Can I Love Myself More, Today? ________________________________

  • How Can I Fill My Home with More Love? _____________________________

  • How Can I Fill My Relationships with More Love? _____________________________

  • Who Do I Want To Tell that I love Them? _____________________________

  • What Area of My Life that I Love has been Placed onto the back burner? Why? _____________________________

  • How Can I Invest in Love, Today? _______________________________

  • How Can I Invest in Love, This Year______________________________

Great job, now you have a clear understanding of some places and spaces within your life where you can Invest In Love, Starting with You.

The truth is that Investing in Loving Yourself is a Slam Dunk of an Investment.

You are worthy of loving yourself and investing in yourself, daily.
As you take good care of yourself which includes applying Love Daily you can support, love, and care for others in your world much more completely.

Taking care of yourself is a must and it’s the opposite of selfishness.
Loving Yourself is an act of Service because you automatically bring and share love wherever you go and with everyone who crosses your path.

I’m sending you so much love and intending that you easily Invest in Love, Starting with You, today and all year long.

Thank you so much for being a part of my life, I’m so grateful for you.
If you feel like you could use some additional support through an Intuitive Session or an Energy Treatment I would love to work with you!

With love and gratitude,
Kristy~xoxo

Home for the Holidays

christmas stars.jpg

Welcome to December and the home stretch as we embrace the holiday season, and the end of the year.

I want to thank you for the thoughts, prayers, notes, and check in’s over the last few weeks as my community was impacted by the camp fire. It’s been a really intense time but my little community has rallied around our neighbors as we all deal with the aftermath of the fire and the flooding. Your kindness and support has meant so much to me.

One of the things that has been prescient for me at this time is that no matter where we are, we bring the holidays with us. Home is within us, it’s not necessarily one particular place, but rather home is in our hearts. We can create and celebrate the holiday season no matter where we are as long as we focus on the love that’s already within us.

I know that this time of year can bring up a lot of emotions, feelings, and memories. You may be separated from your loved ones, or you may be someplace that doesn’t necessarily feel like home. However, you can create a feeling of home by investing in the activities or experiences that feel like home for you.

  • Maybe it means spending time with your Framily, the friends that you consider family.

  • Maybe it means making a special meal or dessert which really anchors the holiday spirit for you.

  • Maybe it means volunteering or supporting someone who could use help this holiday season.

  • Maybe it means listening to a special record that makes you think about a loved one who is no longer here.

  • Maybe it’s wearing festive jammies and watching movies while eating popcorn.

  • Maybe it’s _____________________________.

The truth is that there’s no one way or right way to celebrate the holiday season. There are lots of ways to honor the traditions, joys, and special moments this month. By taking time to do a few things that fill you with love, you’ll bring the holiday’s home no matter where you are or who you’re with.

Please remember that while this month is often filled with hustle and bustle, and places to go and people to see; that it’s equally important to take some time to slow down. I know it seems counter intuitive to slow down during a busy season. However, it’s in the slowing down and paring down your list of to do’s that you’ll more easily enjoy the parts of the season that speak to you. The slowing down allows you to more fully experience the season.

It’s okay to pass on the activities that don’t feel like a fit this year and to embrace the ones that are genuinely right for you. You don’t have to explain why something isn’t a fit, you’ll know it in your heart and that’s more than enough of a reason.

So, this season, no matter where you are or who you’re with, I’m wishing you a gentle, supportive, and joyful season. Let being home for the holidays mean being filled with the joy and love that’s with you right now, inside your heart.

I’m sending you so much love and I’m wishing you a very peaceful and blessed holiday season.
With gratitude and love,
Kristy~xoxo

Home + Healing + Holidays

welcome-november.jpg

This month brings with it so many feelings as we officially greet the last 8 weeks of 2018. Maybe you’re feelings some of the feels too; some of the ones that really stand out to me are things like…

  • How is it already, November?

  • What things did I get off my list this year and which things are still sitting on the back burner and why?

  • How will I spend the holiday season and with whom?

  • How will I make time for the things that are important to me and graciously say no to the things that don’t make the list this year?

  • Why am I feeling a tinge (or tidal wave) of sadness show up for loved ones that have passed even though it’s been many years since they went home?

Are any of these things showing up for you right now?
If so, know that you’re not alone.

A pre-wrap up for the year plus home stuff, healing, and holidays all begin to swim around at this time. Because so many big themes seem to come to the surface at this time, it’s natural to feel lots of deep feelings.

I find that the combination of the days getting darker and shorter (here in the Northern Hemisphere) and all the themes showing up at this time force us to pull inward and dig deep on how we’re feeling and focus on how we want to wrap up the year.

This doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy, celebrate, and create joy during this season. Celebration is part of the holiday season but it’s also important to give yourself permission to tend to your emotional needs too.

Finding a balance between the joy and moving through your feelings is very important. Even though it may seem counter-intuitive, this balancing process allows you to move into the celebration experience more fully.

Giving yourself permission to be where you’re at allows you to move through the wave of emotions so you can move to the next space organically; rather than forcing festivities.

There’s no one way or right way to honor this season, there are only the ways that feel right for you at this time.

  • You may feel guided to participate in a special tradition that allows you to connect to something special from your childhood.

  • Maybe you want to make something that a departed loved one always made at this time of year.

  • Maybe for you, creating a new tradition will support you in feeling more connected to this time of year and your own personal love of the season.

  • You may also feel guided to take a little time this month to gently go over the goals or intentions you've created for yourself.

  • You may want to update your vision board or pull out that list that you’ve been ticking away at during 2018.

Taking a little time to honor all that you’ve accomplished and experienced this year is equally important as focusing on what comes next for you.

This is a great time to do a little rewind on your year and really take it all in along with the accolades that you would give to someone else who accomplished what you’ve done this year.

Some of the things that can add additional support for you this month is focusing on themes that feel supportive.
Things like:

  • Calm

  • Quiet

  • Gentle

  • Cozy

  • Rest

Getting into your favorite jammies or sweats a little bit earlier in the evening, enjoying a warm cup of tea or cider, and snuggling under your favorite blanket can make a huge difference in the way that you feel.

As this season can tend to increase the things that need to get done and the places that you may need to be, making a conscious effort to slow down in seemingly small ways can help you to find that balance that’s right for you.

  • What is something that really makes you feel comforted and supported?  _________________

  • What is something that you absolutely love to do that really feels like fall to you? __________________

  • How can you add more of these things into your days this month? ________________________

When you say yes to your own personal boundaries and needs you more easily move into that place of personal balance. Finding your balance will allow you to experience the kind of season that fills you with joy, happiness, and peace.

You’re absolutely worth investing the time to honor the things that soothe and support you. You don’t have to invest a ton of time in doing this, but you’ll receive so much from this investment and it will be well worth your time.

I’m wishing you a wonderful and gentle month filled with things and people that rise up to greet you! For those of you celebrating Thanksgiving, I’m wishing you a wonderful holiday!

With love and support,

Kristy~xoxo

Back to Basics

october hello.jpg

It’s October, can you believe it?

This year feels like it’s been a bit of a whirlwind and here we are officially at the beginning of the last lap of the year. No matter what this year has brought into your life or how you feel things have gone, you can still make some headway on those goals you set back in January.

As we get ready to hit the holiday season it can bring up a lot of stuff for people. Usually the holidays means more lists, travel, and people to see, and places to go. The holiday season can also bring up sensitive feelings, situations, and relationships.

One of the most common things people tell me is that they want to enjoy the last lap of the year but that it can be overwhelming and easy to let things they care about go by the wayside as they try to get everything done.
I think we can all relate to that experience; I know I can.

So, one of the easiest yet most significant things you can do to make the most of this season is to: Get Back to Basics.

I know it sounds too simple, but while it’s simple, it’s also really effective.

Taking 5 to 10 minutes to get clear on the goals that you want to achieve and or experience this fall is really important.

Be really honest with yourself, no one else is going to see your list.
Include things that don’t feel like traditional “goals” that you usually make for yourself.
Add things like:

  • Reading books that have been stacking up with a cup of cider if that’s something important to you.

  • Maybe you want to host an autumn garden party

  • Sit on your porch every night to watch the sun go down

  • Go on one more fishing trip

  • Or ________________.

Most of us don’t include activities that we really want to do to our mental or physical lists because we tell ourselves that we’ll get around to it once ____________ is finished.

It’s really easy to let everything else get in the way of what really matters most to us. Then, we feel depleted and that we’re missing out on our lives. This can create a slippery slope where we let more and more of the things that matter to us get pushed to the background of our life.

It can feel like there’s not enough time to do all of the things that we want to do while also honoring all of our commitments.

The truth is that you can do both.
Yes, you can do both.

After you’ve finished your list; make another one, this time make a list of the things that you’re going to let go of so you can create time for the things that really matter to you.

No matter how busy your schedule is, you can do this, there’s always something that can be cleared or shifted to make room for your priorities.

Your priorities are important.
You are important.

  • You may need to go to sleep a little earlier, so you can get up earlier to do something that’s valuable to you.

  • You may need to turn off your devices, television, and other screens so you can do something that’s valuable to you.

  • You may need to say no to extraneous demands on your time so you can do something that’s valuable to you.

  • You may need to slow down so you can do something that’s valuable to you.

You’re worth making these subtle but significant shifts.
This may seem like a no brainer, and it may be, however the magic is in doing the action so you can enjoy your life while also managing all of your responsibilities.

When you change the way you’re moving through your day to day life,
Your Life Changes.

How do you change the way you’re moving through your day to day life?
One way is to Focus on Getting Back to Basics

Focus on what you must do and then get rid of the rest.
Fill in those spaces of your life with things that fill you up from the inside out.
You may find that you feel more like yourself when you start this practice.
You may experience more, joy, happiness, and life satisfaction too.
In fact, you may just be able to get one or more of the things that you have on your 2018 list or vision board accomplished.

By getting Back to Basics this month, you’ll create momentum as we move into the last lap of the year. You’ll create a healthy balance which includes supporting you and your responsibilities. This healthy practice will also support you as we move knee deep into the holiday season.

Use this time as an opportunity for a re-set on your day to day life. When you look outside, you can see that Mother Nature is doing this reset right now too. Give yourself permission to release the stuff that isn’t serving you and create space for the things that feed your soul.

You don’t need to wait until January to begin creating a life that feels like your own. Begin now.

Getting Back to Basics is a powerful tool to create a life that’s in alignment with your goals, values, and personal sense of self.

This tool will support you in maintaining more calm and gentility when the demands of the holiday season become more prescient. We know that creating a new healthy habit takes 21 days to fully integrate into our brains and day to day life. Getting Back to Basics now will set you up for success during this last lap of the year and into 2019 too.

You are worthy of investing in your life in a way that resonates for you.
Give yourself permission to invest in yourself and your personal brand of
Back to Basics.

I know you can do it; and I’m supporting you as we move into this last lap of the year, together.
With love,
Kristy~xo

Breathing Room | Change is in the Air

Backyard Evening Dinner.jpg

Have you ever walked into a room, home, or shop where everything just seemed to rise up to greet you?

Maybe when you’ve experienced this, it’s shown up as a feeling; perhaps a feeling of openness, light, and an airy space. This is sometimes described as breathing room.

Maybe when you’ve experienced this, it’s shown up as thoughtfulness, and being able to understand how the placement of things creates an experience that feels supportive, uplifting, and simultaneously calming.

Maybe when you’ve experienced this, it’s shown up as a feast for your senses, and you’re trying to take it all in because it looks, sounds, and maybe even smells incredible.

No matter how it shows up for you, you know what I’m talking about, right?
There’s a palpable feeling when you find that sweet spot in a physical place and it just feels right.

You may even want to linger in that place because it feels so good to be there and you just want to take in all the feels.

The truth is that physical spaces matter.
They matter a lot, a whole lot.

I won’t bore you with the psychological data about why they’re important and how they impact all areas of our lives inside of the spaces and away from them. (Yes, all areas of our lives.)

Instead, I want to share a tip that will support you in creating healthy, happy, gentle, uplifting, and supportive environments for yourself and anyone else who comes into your spaces.

Are you ready?

Simplicity Breathes while Clutter Smothers

I know, it seems really simple and it is that, but it’s also really powerful.

Really take it in this time…

Simplicity Breathes while Clutter Smothers

Can you feel that?
Yep, right there in your gut?

Simplicity Breathes while Clutter Smothers
So simple, but so powerful, right?

If all aspects of our life are impacted by the places and spaces we dwell, then it’s really important to understand that by making some simple shifts we can positively impact all areas of our lives as well.

Knowing this means that you have the power to positively and actively change all areas of your life by addressing your physical spaces.

A great litmus test is to walk into any room in your house and connect to the thoughts, feelings, emotions, and sensory reactions you receive. Those initial responses will tell you right away if there is something that needs to be changed.

You won’t have to wonder how you feel, it will be obvious and you’ll feel it inside of your body. It may feel overwhelming, claustrophobic, or that something is missing or feels off.

Another way you can tell if there’s a space that needs your attention is if you’re avoiding going into that room. If you’re someone who avoids going home because it’s too much for you, this is a clear message that it may be time to reach out for some professional support. (That’s okay.)

Some people are really great at knowing how to create breathing room in a space. These folks possess some level of intuitively knowing where something is meant to be and they can really bring out the best of any space.

Not everyone has this gift, and if you don’t have it, take heart. You don’t need it to apply the simple tip I shared earlier.

The only thing you need to focus on is:
Simplicity Breathes while Clutter Smothers

Since we’re in this time of Back to School, whether you are a student or not, this is a fantastic time to do some clean out, restructuring, and reorganizing.

This is also a great time to streamline as we prepare to engage with the final lap of the year which brings with it holidays, events, family, and friends.

This is the moment, right now to help you get things in a place that feel really great and supportive for you so you can prepare for the rest of your year.

Give yourself permission to make this season of your life one that feels supportive, inspiring, and uplifting for you.
Give yourself permission to create some breathing room

Self care starts at home.
Yes, Self Care starts at home.

If you’re putting off making some changes at home, you’re most likely not making your self care a priority. Let’s face it, highly sensitive people like yourself are even more impacted by their surroundings because you soak in all of the feelings that the stuff represents and then those feelings impact the way you see yourself and the way you move through the world.

So, take a deep breath and know that you’re deserving of taking good care of yourself. You don’t need to do anything or be anything to deserve self care, you’re deserving of it just by being you.

You can definitely make an impact in your life by removing clutter which will automatically create breathing room in your home and in your life.

So, get out your scheduling system and schedule in some time this week to clear away anything that is no longer serving you.

  • Donate old clothes, furniture, and anything else you aren’t using.
  • Recycle anything you can that you aren’t using
  • Throw away anything that’s broken. (If you can’t get it to where it needs to go, call a service to pick it up for you.)
  • Clean out closets
  • Clean out your refrigerator
  • Clean out your pantry
  • Clean out your laundry room
  • Clean out your garage

I promise you that by doing these seemingly small acts of self care, you will experience a huge shift in the way you and your home feels.

This will help you move onto the next level of self care, joy, happiness,
and _____________ that you’ve been wanting to experience.

Self care begins at home.
When you get your home in a place that feels good, you will feel good too.

Don’t over think this one, just start.
Don’t wait for some elusive time to begin.
Begin today.
Start where you’re standing.
You do have what it takes to live the life that you want for yourself.
You are smart enough.
You are deserving enough.
you are ____________ enough.

You Are Enough.

Let this back to school time be a catalyst for you in all areas of your life by spending some time applying this simple but powerful tip.

Simplicity Breathes while Clutter Smothers

As always, I’m standing shoulder to shoulder with you, cheering you on!
I know you have what it takes, I know you can do it, and I’m here for you if you’d like some one on one support.

If you’re experiencing emotions, issues, or challenges coming up for you that you’d like some support with, I would love to offer you some support, insight, and help. Simply click  to find the support that’s the perfect fit for you right now.

Pivot vs. Quit

water and sand shallow.jpg

Every time August rolls around I start thinking about ways to set myself up for the home stretch that happens as we prepare to move into the last-ish bits of the year. The Back to school season helps to put this into motion for me. No matter where you go you see all the back to school stuff cropping up in shops and the energy begins to buzz with all things school, structure, and study.

One of the biggest things that I get asked about is how to move from one area of your life into another one. This is a question I receive from professionals wanting to do something new or different, parents wanting to find balance, and folks who feel a bit at a loss for what’s next for them and their life.

I think we can all relate in some way to those places and spaces of life where you can feel that things are changing for you in big ways. Sometimes, we welcome the changes because we’ve been working toward them for some time, and other times it feels like the change is dragging us along for the ride, maybe kicking and screaming.

No matter what it may look like, change is healthy and an important part of personal growth. You know that old adage, change is the only constant. Well, it’s definitely true, however we can learn to lean into change in a way that may make the transition feel a little bit smoother.

No matter where you are right now, today; the great news is that you can be leaning into where you want to go. Sometimes people who are making really big changes tell me that they feel like they’re being forced to start all over again and that it feels too overwhelming.

The truth is that in most cases we aren’t quitting everything we’ve ever known or worked for but rather we’re being asked to pivot.

Pivot vs. Quit

Take that in for a moment.
They feel different in your gut when you connect to them.
Pivot vs. Quit

Can you feel the feeling of Pivot? Of Quit?
One feels like a shift and one feels like defeat.

The great news is that no matter where you are today, you’ve learned and experienced so many things that you take with you no matter where you go. You may not use them all every day but they’re all with you. Nothing is ever lost and nothing is ever wasted.

While we organically move into different chapters of our lives, it’s natural to feel grief as some things shift out of your life, the truth is that your life experience gets to go with you to your new chapter.

  • If you want to start something new
  • If you want to pivot into a new career
  • If you want to invest in a passion project
  • If you want to move to a new community

Please give yourself permission to lean into those callings.
Use the gifts that you have learned, mastered, and hold within you to begin the process that will move you forward.

If your something new feels like there’s a loss connected to it, reach out for support.
While you’re reaching out for support, pick up something that you love that’s been set upon a shelf for whatever reason. Maybe you haven’t had the time to get to it or it became a lower priority due to your schedule being full; now is a great time to fill yourself up with the things that bring you joy and comfort while you move through this transition.

Sometimes, we are asked to permanently close a door and that’s okay too.
We can feel when things are finished and have come full circle for us.
When you know, you know; so go ahead and close that door, lock it tight and move forward.

However, if you find yourself throwing your arms up and starting and stopping things all the time, it may be time to take a look at that.
If you are constantly quitting, constantly finding yourself in upheaval, and constantly in overwhelm, it may be time to take a look at that.

At the end of the day there is a big difference between Pivot and Quit.

If you are always quitting, there’s a reason.
If you give yourself permission to look at the reason and work through it you’ll find that you can begin to move forward in a way that allows you to gain traction in your life. (You may need to ask for help, that's okay.)

Traction leads to more joy, happiness, and life satisfaction.

No matter where you’re at today, don’t give up on yourself or your dreams for your life. If you find yourself in a season of endings and beginnings, look for ways to Pivot to where you want to be. Use your tenacity, insight, get up and go attitude, and your well of information and life experience to reach out for that next step on your path.

You do have what it takes.
You are enough.
You’re not too old.
You’re not too young.
It’s not too late.
What can you do today to move one step closer to the place you want to be? ___________________

Great, now give yourself permission to take action on your step.

Small actions always lead to big change over time.
Invest in the power of Pivot within your life, today.
Invest in yourself.
You’re worth it!

I’m standing shoulder to shoulder with you and cheering you on as you use this back to school time to propel you forward. I know you can do it!
With so much love and support,
Kristy~xoxo

You've Got This

I just wanted to remind you that you’re doing a great job and that the effort you put in every day isn’t going unnoticed.

As adults we tend to have less and less people telling us that they see us and that we’re making great strides in our life personally and professionally.

Many people experience at least a small handful of support people in their lives as children and young adults; maybe these people were parents, teachers, or coaches. These people may have been a strong support system for you and all that you were doing at any particular age or stage.

However, as we get older we tend to age out of these built in support systems and often forget to take the time to acknowledge all that we’ve done or how far we’ve come in any area of life.

So many times people tell me that they work diligently on a project or toward a big goal and once they achieve it, they simply move onto the next item on their list. While as adults the to do lists often seem to keep growing no matter how many things get finished; it’s important to take in your accomplishments.

In fact it’s almost as important to really feel and experience the achievement as it is to complete the achievement you’ve been working so hard toward.

Take that in for a moment.
Achieving and Experiencing the joy of Achieving are almost equally important.

If we don’t take time to relish in the joys of our own life and to treat ourselves the way we treat others, a feeling of emptiness can begin to creep inside.

I know you are the first person to congratulate and support the people in your world who are experiencing a big moment in their life.

Please give yourself permission to do the same for you.
Who you are makes a difference in this world.
Who you are right now, not when you reach some elusive goal in the future.

You’ve accomplished so much in your life already, and you’re going to continue to do great things just by being you.

No matter what is happening in your life right now, You’ve got this!
You’re smart, reliable, and have a lot of ingenuity.

Please let me be one person in your world today to tell you that you’re doing a great job and to keep up the great work.

When you get a win, others automatically get a win.
It’s important to celebrate your wins no matter what size they may be.
A Win is a Win!

With love,
Kristy~ xoxo
